LMAO- what the hell did he plan on doing..... video the deers last breaths? Yup- he's a movie star alright! Might be a good idea to NOT roll the credits untill the show is deffinately over next time.

I put my meat on styrafoam meat trays and wrapped in cellaphain the same way meat is packaged at the supermarket. Then I toss each pack into a gallon size zip-loc freezer bags, let the air out, and mark the kill date and whatever cut it is. Then I just brown bag it all and chuck it in the chest freezer with the carcass tag.

Simple as that! You and Doc have taken a lot of the unecessary confusion out of it for everybody! I don't understand why some guys have such a hard time with that, and then get all bent out of shape when the solution is that easy. Saves everybody a bunch of headaches right from the get go!

Don't kill the messanger.... I'm just saying what they told me, but yeah, that's pretty much it in a nutshell, lol

Actually Paula, the way it was explained to me by ECO...... even if the signs were laying on the ground covered in leaves because somebody tore them down = it IS POSTED! Landowner must make the effort to properly post is all, and then they can tag somebody their first time through even if signs have been removed or destroyed by others.

That is the way it is. I know a lot of guys would like to believe it "should be another way"...but it's not. First hand experience here with a neighbor that didn't post properly and called me and several others in for it. DEC officer came out and no ticket issued due to impropper posting. He doesn't have to post it now for me or everyone else he has issued letters to... but if someone new happens to come along and do the same thing, he's right back where he started and can't do anything untill the boundaries are made aware of. Knucklehead still hasn't posted anything and I hear he continues to have problems with new comers. Good I say....

If it's not posted properly you can't press trespassing charges to a first time violator who happens across the unmarked imaginary line. After that you'll at least need to issue written warning(certified letter) clearly stating the property boundaries to the "offender" to make future intrusions illegal trespass whether you decide to post it or not. I know nothing about the liability aspect of how it's posted.

...and if you look at the difference between the 3'rd and 4'th picture there is a leaning tree missing on the right hand side. Where did it go,lol?

I'll bet azhuntress is just referring to the tactic they used in Georgia!

Great shots Letnmfly!

I usually start getting excited when I see nice bucks make it through Thanksgiving weekend. I'm a little early with this guy, but hoping he pulls through the rest of the season so I can get my hands on those antlers in a few more weeks!

Seriously, I don't know of anyone who's ever comitted such a sin, lol! I'm honestly curious how it turns out for ya. I'm sure it will be delishious, but I could never dehydrate that suculant piece of meat.

I think they can revoke your hunting licence for that! Maybe even eternal damnation! It better be GOOOOOOD!

I picked up a pair of the Lacrosse Aeroheads this year and so far I'm really happy with them. Warm, comfortable, and good support. I'll put some serious miles on these post season shed hunting. I'm hopefull the extra thick rubber boot part around the ankle and shins will withstand the punishment I dish out to them under some pretty extreme winter conditions. The neopreme uppers I really like so far as well.
-
Most rut action I saw this year was from 11/6-11/9. The last couple days I've gotten a few night time vids of different bucks chasing doe and hitting scrapes again.

Maybe you should re-name it "The Hindenburg",lol

Some of the best internet sites I belong to have a really good way of handling posts like this. First off members need to offer some positive feedback (ex-. in this case "nice deer") and only then can they critique or question the negative aspects of the original post. It's a pretty good set of guidelines for encouragement and ways to learn and improve in the future. Even if it's not a requirement, some folks would do good to try it. It also gets rid of that "pile on" mentality that runs rampant around some sites.

We got about 8 inches and is it ever HEAVY! Sticks to everything including the shovel and I even sprayed that down with silicone. I've had enough..... bring on springs sunny skies, blooming blossoms, and green grasses! I hate snow and cold!

I understand that. I'm by no means new to this hunting stuff and what my purpose is out there. I'm struggling with typing this in my most civil tone possible, so if anyone takes offence, it's either unintentional or you have a guilty conscence for some reason, lol For one guy to take 6 antlerless deer this year, kinda puts him at least 12 deer behind the 8 ball heading into next year already. If you take a look around the site, there's no shortage of posts here about decreased deer #'s.., and fewer than usual sightings..., and it's so quiet out there this season. Heck Meat Manager himself has been involved in many of those posts. What do you expect we're gonna be reading about the same time next season if we kill every deer that shows us it's vitals. That's just not good sound management no matter if you're a meat hunter, a trophy hunter, or even one of those guys in between who supports AR's and has big dreams! I'm no biologist, but lets get real here people. If your not seeing the deer on your property like you used to, you might do good to give a few of them a pass to replenish what you've already taken instead of starting in a hole for 2014. All the food plots and land management you can come up with in the off season wont make a shit bit of difference if you don't have any deer left to benefit from it. We've also seen the quite a few topics about how DEC issues more antlerless tags in certain areas than they should. Some will say this is due to their innaccurate method of calculating deer populations over smaller areas instead of a broader assumption over a WMU. You guys that are out there every day know what's going on in your particular woods better than anyone else and need to recognise and adjust your harvest goals accordingly.... not just shoot 'em up because you can. As always JMO!
