Cool- still in velvet too! I'll go with $9.95

Looks like a nice 9 year old nanny! Congrats!
-
That was my point..., hehehe. I remember a few posts of clearly yearling buck kills where guys were saying DEC aged them at 6+ yo and heading downhill. If theres so much wiggle room for error in aging an antlered deer, I'd imagine the antlerless ages are even easier to inflate/exagerate without too much questioning as long as it doesn't have spots!

Hope your neighbors didn't eat him for turkey day. He could be in their septic tank by now!

I'm not buying the whole outsmart a mature doe speel if you want a real challenge. I bet the majority of "mature doe" that are killed every year are also 1 1/2 year olds.
-
That's one bad azz buck! Probably lost his antlers fighting one of those concrete deer statues!
-
They are just as dumb as a 1 1/2 year old 8pt....... no difference.

Too funny! She's just jealous she leaves footprints behind when she tries it!

I guess I'll be the first to say I don't own any of the cold weather hunting apparel. Working construction throughout the winters has taught me how to effectively layer without over dressing to the point that bulkyness becomes a safety issue. It's all street clothes for me with a thin layer off camo or orange over the top but that's about it. I'm sure all these specialized garments work like a charm, but I could never shell out that sort of cash on something I'd likely destroy in a 40 hour work week. I still get cold on stand some days but that's usually my own poor planning before I walk out the door that leads to that. When it gets arctic frigid, I don't want to be out there hunting deer anyways. No sence being miserable doing something I enjoy. If I don't have enough t-shirts, socks, sweats, and hoodies in my dresser to stay comfortable, I'll just stay home!

Yup- once the lithiums started to fall off the 100% mark, they dropped like a rock after 85%....., but it took a LOOOOOOONG time for that to happen.(didn't get a pic count, but near 1yr) Those rechargeables got me 1500 thirty second night vids w/1500 pics before crapping out. Not too shabby IMO, so I may just go that route from now on with my AA cameras. Right around the same price as the lithiums, I just need to get some extra to swap out while recharging the dead ones.

Laura..., Candace..., Amanda,....Teresa....,Robin...., Kerri......... OHHHHHH, you said names of cuts! My bad..... what did you expect from a guy who gets treated like a piece of meat, lol

That's pretty much what I suspected but figured I'd throw it out there just in case. I made the crossover from conventional AA alkalines to Energizer lithiums in my M-80 this spring and the difference is astonishing! Also picked up some of the Energizer AA rechargeables and those hold up REALLY well too, but the camera doesn't show 100% charge on those for some reason. I think I remember the manual saying it would only show 60% at full charge, but I still get paranoid whenever I see levels dip to 40% especially running video. The external packs I'm running off my old junker D-55 and D-65, and Primos Ulra Blackout so not much loss if there is any connection to these packs killing my cams.

I would throw the poor suffering deer over my shoulder and rush it to the SPCA where it could get medical attention!

Love hearing all this chatter about shed antlers already! I've been doing some light hiking since the end of November but nothing besides a dead one so far.
-
Picked up a nice fresh 8pt match set last year on December 12'th. Always seems to be a few that dump the headgear before the new calander year.
-
Real easy........... just ask them! If they go on, and on, and on, about what a skilled and knowledgeable hunter they are.... they're probably full of crap, lol!

Looks like he made it through Thanksgiving weekend!!!! I only got one pic of this guy all summer and fall but now he seems to be on the move quite a bit lately. Hope he leaves me an early Christmas pressent..... or two... one of these days! Click pic for vid on this one... Here's a couple still pics of the antlers I'll be scooping up soon enough, lol

If it had an antler when he pulled the trigger, it's a buck....end of story. At least that's the honest thing to do.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the layout of your land. The cover you're trying to rid the area of sounds like it would make a great staging area by itself already...... not to mention the benefits that stuff provides naturally through the four seasons by itself. Getting rid the nasty stuff might be counter productive to any plot you want to open up. Any other options for a plot location nearbye that wouldn't destroy the thicket? I'm not a plotter, but I have seen a few pop up here in recent years that actually made the habitat worse simply due to being very poorly thought out.

Sweet!

As long as their antlers are still stuck to their heads they'll keep bumping bones. I've seen that right into February/March sometiimes if your lucky especially around those little concentrated food sources. I think a lot of antlers get shed this way especially later into winter.Nice series!

I always thought this sounded like a good idea untill I tried it a few times. I've never been so distracted and annoyed in my life. The outdoors in general is something I enjoy most solo. I don't put myself out there to entertain, impress, or enlighten anybody. I don't like to go home because someone else is cold, bored, hungry, or scared. I don't want to be aggrevated when I'm having fun even if she's not. I don't want to talk about your mother, or family, or the new shoes you want to buy. I want to relax and enjoy everything around me uninterupted by anyone else. That's just me though.

That actually doesn't look half bad compared to some of the stuff my ex "cooked"! One time she even started the stove on fire when she left the oven mitt in the broiler, lol
-
Oh wow- looks to me like those two are gonna slather each other up in that syrup and lick the nuts off each other like a banana split, lol I'd be scared to pee outside my blind in them woods!

I've been running the Wildgame Innovation battery boxes on a few of my cams the last 2 seasons. Last winter I killed two WGI 6V batteries with this set up. I may have let them run dead for too long and they wont take a charge. Shortly after switching back to regular Alkaline or Lithiums for the summer months, the cameras themselves died. Even with the rubber weatherproof seal in excellent condition and no cracks in the boxes, they always seem to collect condensation inside the box no matter what season the calender says it is. I picked up a few new 6V's this year and another 12V for my Moultrie but I'm a little nervous about running them through the winter months even though that's what my primary intentions were. So a few questions for you guys that have more experience running these things through the winter months...or anything else you may feel I need to know. Thanks in advance! - Do you guys modify/insulate the battery boxes in any way for COLD weather applications -How long do you expect a charge to last from your 6V-12V units before you run the risk of running them dead when temps dip below freezing? -Have you noticed camera life itself is jeopardized when switching between external batteries and back to conventionals? -Why would I get that blue corrosive build up at the connection between the battery and camera?
