  1. I would say: c- interdigital glands http://www.deerhunter.com/pages/deer-hunter/deer-info/deer-glands
  2. Congrats..., but I gotta ask...... exactly how many deer do you really need to kill in one year? Don't take this the wrong way. I'd really like an honest answer. I know there's plenty of guys here that do the same. If you've got the tags then by all means knock yourself out. Just seems like a little bit of "overkill" to me when guys feel they "need" to fill every tag issued. I'll be honest here, I even get a bit annoyed when I hear guys killing in excess of their own needs just to donate the rest. If they were really feeling generous, they would sacrifice one of their own. JMO
  3. Nope- the PM is still active and another member sent me a test PM that worked properly. Maybe I should have asked if anyone is having trouble with PM's to or from "Red". Shoot him a message to say hi and get back to me,lol. It looks like his are the only one I got problems with.
  4. Anyone else having trouble with PM's? I get..."You may not reply to message. All other recipients have left the conversation" I've never seen that before!
  5. I honestly believe last winter was a lot tougher on them than many may think. 2012 we had an early green up before the final cold snap that destroyed all the mast heading into winter 2013. 2012-13 winter lingered into April and we lost a lot of deer around here before green up in May. Heck, I found 40 fresh dead ones post season on the grounds I shed hunt alone. Normaly I can watch 30 different bucks while photographing over the summer months at the green fields. This summer was more like 10-12 different bucks. That's kinda what I was expecting but it's still pretty frustrating.
  6. I managed to fill my regular season buck tag today with a nice 6'er! I wasn't even going to go out because of the weather and no sightings lately. I froze my butt off for 4hrs before this fella came running in from behind me right around noon. When I stood up to grab my smokepole my treestand let out a God awefull groan and he ran away from me. Unfortunately for him, he didn't run far enough before he stopped, and I dropped 'em in his tracks! Not to toot my own horn... but I don't miss with this gun! As I was gutting him, I had 4 antlerless stroll by me at 20yds, and on my way dragging him out I bumped into 4 more antlerless on the trail home. I can still go out for late ML season but only got the antlerless tag so I'll see how cold it is,lol Looks like shed season will come early again this year!
  7. I just gave you a mathematical equation with ONLY one right answer and you want to argue that! Yup- you're smarter than math, lol
  8. WRONG- you fail! According to your theory "length" should = 5 in this example, but as you can see it doesn't! As the other 2 known sides increasses, so will the difference of the unknown side(actual distance to target from treestand)
  9. After the leaves dropped I hung my climber in a hemlock like a lock on stand. I don't like climbing this time of year when frost or ice can make those tree trunks extra greasy. You're not gonna get much concealment out of a straight trunked tree right now without drawing more attention to yourself. Your idea sounds good in theory, but I know it would never work for me with the style harness I have being too short for that.
  10. For you first timer virgin butchers!
  11. Either that or itching his McNuggets, lol
  12. I had to pick up 1/2 dozen mid season this year. I was shooting the Axis at $90 1/2 dozen but I was on a pretty tight budget this time around so I went with the cheapy Easton Aftermaths at $52/6. I was happy with that decision when my first arrow that found it's mark was snapped in half leaving me with 5 heading into next season already.
  13. Nope... you look "PHATT" as in cool !
  14. ....and I thought I was the only one who did stupid crap like that while alone in the woods, lol He's much better looking than you Burt!
  15. Haha- just shoot your poop pile with a couple shots of scent eliminator spray and keep on huntin'....heck, you don't even have to pull your pants down if it's too cold out,lol
  16. Can't...... Cousin Bobby joe is tappin' sister Betty Lou. If one of them talks to Big Momma and Uncle Cooter finds out,, he's bound to take the boy out behind the wood shed and give him a red behind with his fiddle stick....or even worse! There's no easy answer here. Just gotta fill your jug with some 190 proof and chug it down like a man. Family is allowed to be A-holes....you just gotta make sure yours is covered because they always got your back!

    Big Bear

Hey, I think somebody needs to let the air outta that beast......AGAIN,lol That looks like an old fashion "carpet stretcher" technique being applied there!

    First

Heard the first shot here in 9h at 6:49am. That one triggered a dominoe effect and then it was non stop untill 10am. Most opener shots I've heard in years. Dead silent from 10-3:30 and then it was pretty steady again till dark+.
  19. Good luck, and most imprtantly.., stay safe everyone!
  20. I'm not laughing at this Steve... it is no joke!
  21. I'll bring a dozen ears of corn.., a 10lb bag of apples.., pockets full of salt packets.., and a tub of extra crunchy Peter Pan peanut butter. Usually by the time I get to my stand, everything has fallen out the hole in my backpack and I'm left with a couple sandwiches, cookies, and coffee, lol!
  22. I'll be out there before Pygmy wakes up from his dream and finds a Kleenex, lol No later than 6am.
  23. My neighbor to the left usually starts blasting around 6am. The guy to my right will fire back about 5 minutes later. The guy from 6 houses down the road waits untill 6:28am just to make sure he gets a round off before the guy from 6578 unloads. A 5 shot volley errupts just before legal from my front porch..... ..... then we all hike into the woods and go deer hunting, lol
  24. I've been using the Heat Factory's this year. I was kinda skeptical about the advertised 24 hr performance claim on the package, but they've been holding up from 5am till 5am the next day without zip-locking. Last few seasons I've used another brand that was only good for 7 or 8hrs but they usually fizzled out before a days hunt was over..
