Sweet find! Is he still alive and slithering?
-
Not really........I used to travel much further to see my now ex-wife when we were dating. That proved to be even worse for my health, and cost me far more in the long run,lol

Looks more like a mink to me.

Cool pic! Always like seeing the first fawns of the season still wet behind the ears! Too many folks think these little ones are orphaned and need help, but that's usually not the case. I was watching two twins last spring that were orphaned, or abandoned, as spotted fawns in my creekbottom. They survived all the way through deer season together, and I never once saw a mature momma doe with them.

No joke...with smokes @ almost $10/pck here localy, I saved roughly $600. I usually make the 60 mile trip to the reservation to stock up every couple of months.
-
This has gotten funny! @3fps difference shot side by side, your "slower" arrows tip would be passing through the target at almost the same time as your "faster" arrows nock dissapeared!

Yup, just picked up 7 cartons this weekend for $106.

I've got two 55IR's and a 65IR. Three of the most reliable cams I've ever owned. Not even a hickup over the past 3 or 4 seasons running 365. They could all die tomorrow, and I wouldn't have a bad thing to say about them at this point. Longevity is a good selling point to me over all the other features cam manufacturers are trying to pack into these things.

I think she did do just that. I went back 2 or 3 days after this for a few more pics, but it appeared mama had packed up the family and moved on already. Those little ones weren't ready to move out on their own yet.

Good deal - I guess this gives a whole new meaning to the term "poached eggs".

I'm going to look for sheds again!

Incredible Trail Cam Photo (Death On A Log Crossing)
wooly replied to WestchesterBowman's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
That's possible, but this is also just the way it's supposed to work. SteveMcD's 'Aldo quote' is spot on! -
Nice- he sure is off to a great start! He'd be a few weeks to a month ahead of schedule in my woods! Hope he sticks around for you to keep tabs on his growth!
-
Beauty Dave! Now get them tools outta the buggy and go get the beer!

My camera settings got bumped all out of whack before I fired off my first fawn shot of 2013 earlier this week. I accidently flashed him (they don't like that, lol) and the focus was way off, so it's a little rough. Planning on a fawn photo hunt tomorrow under better (sunny) conditions.

I've got a set of twins on the ground already down in the creekbottom. I can count on that spot every year to hold a few fawns! I've seen them 3x's so far since last week but only managed to get a few pics I'm not real happy with. Hoping they wont be as shy by the end of this week so I can get a few new close-ups!
-
Cool clip! You gotta love those bonus close-up encounters and it helps you had the camera with ya! Now if you could just get him to follow you home, you could have some real good fun,lol

What does a picture of your depth finder screen have to do with your deer season! It does look like a real lunker in there! Congrats Elmo!

Unrelated to hunting powerlines, but I thought this was a funny pic I got last month. The funny part to me at least, is the powerlines are at least 200yds away from where these guys decided to blaze a new trail through the timber at several points. It's not my property, but apparently if they hit a "detour" along their right of way, that gives them the right to make a new access road. They've been cutting down brush and limbs along this stretch since last winter so some of the new roads they've created are getting pretty worn.

Wow- great vid and what a trophy! Unfortunately, "no-tail" was NOT a geneticly inferior animal..and at one time he had a nice full, bushy, typical tail! Back in the archery season of 2010, he appeared in front of my stand in Erie County and gave me an oppertunity also. He must have heard my bow limb tap the rail, and when I released the shot, he jumped the string and was never seen on the property again, but he did "shed" a nice 10" tail before he dissapeared. So it would seem to me, you got yourself a nice "mature non- typical trophy squill" of at least 4 yrs old despite what his narrow ear spread may indicate! Let me know if you want his 2010 "tail shed" to go along with any taxidermy work you plan on having done to this ellusive rat, and congrats again. Thanks for giving me some closure as to what ever became of this beast!. -
How would that convince anyone to quit? They're both dead.
-
For $5 you can get this all access patch on ebay that grants you unlimited hunting rights on powerline right of ways! If anyone questions it's authenticity, just tell them go talk to your supervisor 4 poles down....he's the guy in the white hard hat,lol
-
Great shots Eddie! The doe in the first pic looks like she's about ready to pop!

In my rush to reply last night, I forgot to mention you can also accomplish depth control, and getting your bait away from the boat by using Dipsey Divers, or Jet Divers off a flat line. No need to invest 1000's of dollars in offshore gear. Just clip one of these babies on, and wait for the fish to bite!
