  1. Gotcha. The marlin is nice too. That's one good thing about today's gun market, it's hard to find a bad shooting gun.
  2. It has the 9 shot rotary magazine that Rugers are famous for. It's the mag version of their 10/22 clip
  3. Yes, I posted that earlier in the thread. Sorry for not clarifying.
  4. Mine shoots nickel size groups at 50 yards with a less than solid rest.
  5. I want to do a 3-4 day getaway with the wife in August. Looking for somewhere nice in the Adirondacks. Something with some privacy and close to some good hiking and canoeing spots. Any ideas?
  6. Not sure if it's been mentioned yet since I haven't gone through the thread, but the Ruger American is a great little gun. I recently purchased one in 22mag and its a good little shooter and seems well made. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.
  7. That's one of the more wore down sets I have seen. Awesome!
  8. I am waiting to hear back from Maine, NH, and Vermont on moose, and Kentucky for elk. All are pretty low chance, but my preference points are building. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. It's natural for owls to hoot at night, so I wouldn't worry about scaring anything by starting too early.
  10. I've had good luck with the owl hooter once the songbirds start. I use it to pinpoint roosting location. Right now, I would say about 5:00 is a good time to start.

    Turkey skull..

I will after the season closes. I was going to do it last year, but forgot about it. I have one in the freezer waiting now.
  12. Not sure if he is still making them, but I have used mine 3 times now and love it! Works great and makes carrying them a long distance a lot easier.
  13. I have heard it's picking up for others as well.
  14. Same for me this last weekend. I tagged out Saturday on a decent tom. I called one in for my buddy on Sunday, his first ever turkey. Also seen two others in full strut while driving.
  15. I always went by spur length, beard length and weight seem to vary a lot more.
  16. I shot a jake Thursday that was 17lbs. He dwarfed the jake that was with him causing me to mistake him for a tom. I thought that was pretty big for a jake.
  17. What about April 15 to May 31, but drop down to one tag until numbers bounce back?
