  1. Does anyone use Huntstand. If so, does it have a GPS feature? If I click on a rub/scrape or stand I mark on the map, can it take me there? Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  2. Creedmoor. I did not know there was a difference until hockey wrote Grendel. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  3. A nice gut shot deer that was recovered after long hours and may or may not have been cleaned out well. Mmmmmmm Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  4. Everything I read says the 6.5 is very similar to a .308 which is great for deer. Is that not correct Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  5. Once you have the space try it. You will mess up at first like anything else in life. I am closer to a "hack" than a butcher but I would rather do it myself. I did not like what I saw at the butchers i've used and I don't need to extra expense. It probably takes us 2-2.5 hours. We take apart hind quarters and freeze the pieces whole. Cut Backstraps and then the rest for chopped meat and sauce/stew. We chop neck/backbones and ribs to make sauce with so it takes us a little longer. Only throw out the head and leg bones. 10. Biz- a little background. I moved with my family from Brooklyn to White plains a year ago and I have been hunting upstate my whole life. Now that you know me well, can you please predict that I kill an 8 pointer on Saturday. I would ask for a 10 pt but I am not greedy Thanks. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

  14. Any recommendations for gloves. I want gloves that are not too bulky but still warm. I don't need them to be super heavy as I use a muff but need them when I'm walking, on quad or just have my hands out. Something water resistant would be best. Wouldn't wear them to shoot my bow, but maybe rifle. I lose my damn gloves or a knife every time I kill a deer. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  15. One of my favorite game animals. We quarter, fry them and add onion, some cherry or peeled tomato and hot peppers and let that cook in some wine. Salt + pepper. So delicious. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

Hi all. My stand is at 23 feet and my shot was at 25 yards. Shouldnt my exit wound be a lot lower than the entry. It looks like I shot him from the ground. Not sure what happened. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  20. First legal buck to give me a shot was on my last day bowhunting for the year. Saw a few spikes and Doe but never in range He came through at 25 yards and stopped broadside. I heard the pop when the Rage hit, he ran off full tilt and I heard him crash. Went about 100 yards. Hoping for a big one in gun season. I hit him a little lower than I aimed. My stand is about 23 feet high but the entry and exit wounds are the same level. Makes no sense. Not sure if anyone has experienced that. I will start a topic on it as I've been trying to understand it. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  21. Thank you! Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  22. All I saw was 4 or 5 different spikes all year. Saw doe but never in range to shoot. Finally on Sunday which was my last day to bow hunt I got a shot on a small buck that I thought was a 6 pointer, ended up being a 5. I didn't want to post a picture of it because everybody was posting monsters and it made me feel bad that I even shot it [emoji1]. Put meat in the freezer though and he'll be tasty. Hopefully I see a big one during gun season. On to the venting. My uncle shot what he said he was a nice buck with a crossbow and we couldn't recover it. I saw him fall myself as he ran in my direction after being shot, about 200 yards. He got up after 10 mins and left . There was a lot of blood but it tapered off as he walked away and dissapeared. We followed for I would guess half a mile, lost blood after about 100 yards from where he fell and couldn't find it. Went back with 2 more people and still nothing. I have a feeling it's not a dead deer since the blood became less and less but who knows. The arrow was 10 yards passed where he fell. Makes me sick to lose a deer, just hoping it's alive. 23. Doe and spike so far. Just happy I'm in the woods and not in the city. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
