  1. OK now you guys are just causing overload! lol
  2. Fair enough - I am not a snuggler either, as my wife will attest. In fact, if you wake me from a deep sleep, do so with a stick as I tend to throw punches.
  3. mostly on my right side but sometimes on my back - kind of a personal question
  4. What do you have to lose. Be as strategic as possible in terms of location but I would definitely go for it.
  5. had a marlin from Jamaica mounted - taxis won't skin mount one and from what I understand they refrain from skin mounting any salt water fish.
  6. Now that ain't right - well maybe it is but you're not supposed to jinx him
  7. when you have a deer patterned like that, you need to make a move to kill him, don't wait for him to come to you. IMO
  8. size of head and neck determine size of mannequin but typically the taxi tries to replicate original. I can say with certainty that I could not ID most of my mounts if I just focused on cape coloration/markings but perhaps I am not that observant. lol
  9. yes - not too late to mount. Little extra for a replacement cape and don't worry about Biz. Lets face it, most capes are not really all that unique. I have one with a replacement cape due to a wound on the buck and I never really think about that.
  10. Carry a stool, a shooting stick and find some cover 50-100yds closer. Go quiet predawn, set up and shoot him. Heck I got within 15' in bow. No doubt you can make this work! 200yds may be a doable shot too with a rest.
  11. If I was to euro a big buck, it would be metal coated but I suspect at some point I would regret not doing the shoulder mount.
  12. I think the metal coated are really cool:
  13. I think there is three versions. One was a bit cheaper (generic I think) and I would have bought it if I saw it first.
  14. Uh no thanks. Try that enough and you will regret it! Seems like all these folks that mess with deadly wild animals like they are a pet think it will never happen to them and then it does. Died doing what they love or just really foolish decisions.
  15. Maybe try to pick a tree with cover and only climb 6-8 feet.
  16. Be safe, but don't let wind stop you. Most bucks I saw in a day this year was with 20-40mph winds.
  17. Go for it Dan! You can even borrow my gorgeous prohunter encore!
  18. How did bibs fit? True to size? That was the one issue I had with first lite. The bibs I ordered in xxxl where smaller than most xxl bibs I own.
  19. she was. He called because he needed helping loading her into the truck. Then sent me the scale photo.
  20. If I had only known then what I know now. Only my second season hunting and first year I bought that parcel. I tagged out earlier on my first wall mounter (decent 9pt 3yr old) but man I now wish I had held out and hunted that buck hard. He was killed second day of gun by someone hunting neighbor's property. He lived at my place and we even saw him after tagging out in bow. Live and learn.
  21. Top was bow. Bottom is a dead head we found at my place several years ago (another gut shot buck) that I strongly suspect was the offspring of this guy. He would have been really cool in a few years.
