  1. wait a few years, we don't have any extra bedrooms now if and when Robin throws you out. She will be longing for the smell of drying skins.
  2. That thing is wicked. If it comes near that speed, you probably have the same aiming point from 0-50yds. Interesting xbow.
  3. Who am I to discourage someone from spending money on unnecessary items for hunting. lol I spent $165 on my crossbow with bolts. It killed two deer. If I don't want to hunt trad, I actually find a compound way easier to lug around and move around in the stand. But crossbow is nice in a blind. If I were to upgrade my xbow (I won't) I would want something a bit faster that had a cocking mechanism and the ability to decock without shooting a bolt. Otherwise, they all seem pretty similar. Good luck on your search.
  4. Costanzas uses pepper jack among others I think. I suspect hard cheddar would work too. Maybe chunked vs. shredded.
  5. Do we have to wait another 40 years Dave? can't we do that now with you present!
  6. Stratus and incinerator do not collect burs. Very easy to clean off. Fanatic will collect burs and can be a pain to clean them off.
  7. I store it with my guns. I figure if they are safe, so is the powder. Didn't open the second canister.
  8. Just an FYI - I bought two canisters 6 years ago. Not even close to finishing one, but BH209 is supposed to have a very very long shelf life if stored correctly. So you might want to buy 2 and not worry about it in the future. Don't recall what it costs, but I bought 2 at the time due to the extra shipping charge.
  9. By the way, if it were me and you don't spot anything sun up, I would sit a bit but would then do a quiet walk through as you may push up bedded deer that you can't see. just a thought.
  10. Head to the pines in the dark and try to set up within range to see in if possible. I know we have at times jumped in stands in the morning in the pines and the deer stayed bedded within 50yds until sun up. Quiet and downwind helps!
  11. The QDMA guy had two great opportunities on nice bucks but couldn't seal the deal. We sat twice so far, including all day on opener. Is what it is. Going to try once more. The other is a new hunter that works with me and was promised by a buddy to take him out. Hasn't happened, so I offered to try to get him out. We shall see.
  12. By the way, the 185" that I saw at WNY Bowhunter's was not a very big bodied deer. I think Jason said around 155lbs.
  13. According to the thread yes. The bigger one looks like it was taken by a youngish kid.
  14. I still have two new hunters to get on a deer! I hope the deer cooperate. One more sit each.
  15. were they trying to trap a bear? I had no clue people trapped bears.
  16. pines was my first thought too. They seem to love those areas when the snow comes down. Good call on south facing slopes too, especially if sun is out.
  17. SE Wisconsin is supposed to be similar to Iowa or Kansas. These were both killed in NW Wisconsin according the OP.
  18. Most of the time, farmers harvest before the deer return to the beans. But if left unharvested, they are a great draw this time of the year. High protein and just what bucks need to recover from the rut.
  19. It was fun Dave. And talk to me about that AR predator rifle. I have a few that may be of interest to you buddy.
  20. Holy smokes! That is mass. http://www.thehuntingbeast.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=53115
  21. No idea how difficult the process is which is why I said he should do some research. But I think TF was saying that he can’t find a breech plug that is 209 compatible for that gun.
  22. Do some research, but I though you could just drill out the hole a bit. Maybe I am dreaming that I read they somewhere. Quick search wasn’t dreaming: https://www.michigan-sportsman.com/forum/threads/boring-out-cva-breech-plug-for-bh-209-use.359687/
