Saw it on a buck at WNY bowhunters. Would not have believed it. But arrrow holes were under spine. Buck survived and was killed by gun.

I like the idea of either tape or a glove, but have never used anything and never had a misfire. I guess there is always a first, but I don't hold the muzzle up other than when its slung on my shoulder I guess.

https://www.mukluks.com/CamuksXtreme/productinfo/CAMXM/10789/#.Xf0YzuRYZol This pair really has me interested. Light, not overly big, flexible (water resistant although some reviewers said they do not leak even in water) and supposed to be very warm. The reviews from the northern MN hunters makes me think these could be a great option for the ultimate warm hunting boot. Anyone ever try them or know anyone that has a pair. Not cheap, but not really crazy if they worked as advertised.

Did your eyes freeze shut Tacks? -
Place is loaded with ticks. Probably why I saw them. There should be armies of them there based on available food!

who knew I have a possum honey hole - saw two this season. They don't bother me a bit so I don't bother them.

Honestly, I really can't tell you how well the soybeans grew because they never got big enough for me to say, hey the beans are coming in. I suspect that as soon as leaves came in, they were eaten at the same time brassicas were being browsed. (second time that happened as we tried beans once before and they were gone before I noticed any real growth) The brassicas were also mowed down from the start but they grow fast with large leaves and tolerated the pressure through the whole season, to the point that the deer were still pulling roots/bulbs late season. The only way I would plant beans again is if I have some way of locking out the deer until the plants grew (electric fence?). This whole plot is less than an acre so your results may vary. I may rotate this year to clover with oats or wheat mixed in later. Then back to brassicas in 2021. 2018, my other property (which had corn and winter wheat fields adjacent), the brassicas were not touched until post season. So this year, I only did clover there which worked great until early November. Again, I may drop some wheat/oats in this year along with clover. Either deer in Caledonia hate brassicas or its simply not a preferred source when compared to the fields of beans/wheat and corn that are usually located around it.

Pretty sure I would kerplunk along with my gear. lol -
Don't ignore environment. No one in my family is large and I wrestled 145 as a sophomore in HS but was over 300lbs by college and 5" taller. Eating like a pig and living in the gym for 4 years helped more than genetics (at least on the weight part).

You are improving. I may ask you to come and take hero shots with any bucks I kill in the future. The head on that buck is bigger than your whole body. BTW - shot was a bit back and high causing needless suffering - work on that! -
I used a body bag for my jeep this year. Worked great. Holds in all the blood and ticks!

How far away to place wiggly and caller?

Have a carbon fiber proof bull barrel on my 223 wylde. Its a tackdriver and the whole gun weighs under 5.5lbs. Doesnt seem to heat up either (at least for a 5 shot string or so). -

This actually makes me feel sorry for the guy as much as I like to avoid his posts and cluttering up of the threads. Its really sad. -

None of my many ladder stands have a fold up seat and all have tiny platforms. Still kill deer from them in archery and gun. They will work out fine! -
The one big downside to the baffins I own are that my size 14 has the footprint of a size 18 boot, literally huge. One hunter walking behind me to the blind this year asked me what size foot I had because the prints were huge in the snow. Makes them tough to maneuver in a stand with postage stamp size platform. Are these boots the same? Maybe its just the model I bought but I assume since they all have a thick liner, they all have the same issue.

Drew is an amateur at long-arming. I have seen much better this year alone in a few other photos. I am too fat and inflexible to make the long arm positions work. lol -

Last year most hung up quite a aways before the caller. only 2 dogs that I recall came near it and both were killed (by treeguy) at 50-60yds. We were generally putting the caller at approx. 50 yds. I agree with steve. Any farther and based on last year, you are just adding to what were already long shots it seemed.
