    Just had a doe running like hell chased by 2yr. Followed by 3 joggers. I yell to joggers they are on private property. They say ok ok. Turn around then 2 more decent bucks run by. Craziest 5 min of season. Coffee works.

    2 bucks so far on same trail 20yds away nose to ground. One was a nice 2yr.

    Same way states chose to ignore federal marijuana laws. Enforcement of federal laws by states is a different question that enforcement of state laws by its subordinate counties where state police still patrol, I suspect.

    My most vivid recollection was 2 season ago when I had my biggest buck stepping into my shooting lane, drew back my recurve and my arrow stayed stuck in the arrow holder (when its cold that rubber ain't so flexible) and nock came off my string. I was fortunate to pull the arrow free, renock it and shoot. But it remains a slow motion memory as I was sure I just blew my best opportunity with lots of expletives flying through my head.

    My wife just called me all excited. Monster buck (bigger than my biggest on the wall of course) chasing a buck around my yard. She forgot to take a pic.

    its a nice buck for sure. gotta love it when a bigger buck stops by after being tagged out.

    seems like things are starting to kick in. phade has seen 6 or 7 deer in the last hour including 2 bucks. Keep at it. Cant wait to hunt the snow tomorrow.

    Find a good spot high up to glass most of the vineyard and observe one evening where they all enter. Should give you a good plan to hang some sets. Good luck

    I will be honest and say mine is always inside of my pack with my tags. The few times I ran into DEC while hunting, none have ever said a thing about not having it visible. Hunting public may be a different story. And following the rule is the right thing to do.

    I would think if you can narrow down entrance and exit routes and hunt the edges based on wind it would be best. Tough to hunt the middle I would think as it probably like any other field - somewhat random movement. If there is a particular area where they tend to hang in the actual vineyard, a blind or even just sitting a chair behind the vines might work.

    Actually you can get duplicate Deer tags too but not dmps.

    They teach in hunters ed that a back tag can always be replaced with a piece of paper with your number written on it if lost. The number must be shown. Nothing magic about the original paper or print style.

    Yep. That’s why they are perferated. Separate things sir. You don’t need a back tag to tag a deer. Not even required to wear one in the NZ. Back tag IS NOT either a buck or doe tag.
