  1. Awesome buck. And you sure are your father's son. Strong resemblance. Well done!
  2. Grab a cheap folding table from walmart, one of the small ones with a lead sled. That said, this year I used the lift gate of my truck. Not the most comfortable.
  3. Culver planned a darn good menu in bear camp!
  4. Prevailing wind to his back. 1/3 down from the stepped patio. Just as I suspected!
  5. Someone pulled down the licking vines on one of our scrapes and my buddy used a piece of ratchet strap to tie a new branch up 15' away. Guess where the scrape was this year - to my surprise. Its a bright green ratchet strap too. lol
  6. Its funny the small things that can draw on the battery. I had to replace a small switch connected to my shifter because it was not signaling that the truck was in park which in turn left the dash lights on. Ford wanted $380 to replace the entire shifter. My buddy and I replaced it in 30 min with a new switch at a cost of less than $50. All good.
  7. we have a few ridges where you better aim low or you will miss high. That said, ACR is probably not really needed if you know that.
  8. And I thought you were way to busy ridding the world of trees!
  9. I must admit that I wish I still got that shaking excitement with a doe or buck in range that I did when I started hunting. Perhaps because I have killed my fair share over the past 7 seasons, the adrenaline doesn't really get going until after I shoot a buck, at least with bow. I do think shooting the bow a lot allows one to simply start the process of getting into position and shot routine which takes the focus off the antlers so to speak. Its a target. I think its likely I could get hit with a bit of buck fever with a gun because (1) I don't shoot near as much with a gun; and (2) I have seen far fewer (like close to 0) really good bucks during gun season. Last 2 years I could have shot a couple of nice 2 years olds and was excited just to see them. Those are the best I have seen in 6 seasons of gun hunting. I suspect a big buck in range in gun might start that adrenaline earlier than in bow. Hope to find out. Actually I think it was 2 seasons ago we saw a great shooter in gun but no shot as a road was his backdrop.
  10. It was likely 300" of antler in that one photo of a doe and two bucks. Pretty impressive.
  11. Good chance of becoming huge. No one will shoot him. He is probably very happy with his appearance.
