  1. Brush it in really well with a thick backdrop and you should be fine. Key is making it blend in or leaving it long enough that deer know it but are accustomed to it. We set this one and had deer within 5 yards same day last year.
  2. Photo at 36. Didn’t want to move and possibly give up stand. Same buck for sure. Phades got him. No doubt in my mind.
  3. Will post later. Reception sucks here. Man did that stink. He is a beauty. Only got one as he was coming in. Did not want to move for brads sake. I think we will have video of him walking by though.
  4. Just had that huge 9 at 25yds. He won Russian roulette. Only 75yds from Phades stand. Picked the right hunter. Uggghhhhh
  5. I have that vortec and a Redfield you can check out if you like Lar
  6. I refuse to add it up. But I have fun with it. Primary hobby now so I don’t sweat it. Heck at one point in my life, I probably spent thousands a year on partying and that was sure less productive.
  7. Wait it out Paul. As a distraction, my buddy David used a piece of ratchet strap tied to a limb and small piece of branch on other end to create a licking branch. Darned if it didn’t work. Phade just had this same 2 yr old with a broken g2 working it and a scrape that the deer opened 15yds from his stand. And I made fun of him when I first saw it. Lol
  8. A good mix of wetland and timber makes it hunt much larger since you have A LOT of transition lines and areas. It is a bit more work to maintain than just hardwoods but also has tons of bedding. Mine is bordered by no hunting preserve and big ag fields. Huge plus. I got lucky core. I put up a wtb ad on Craigslist and this guy needed money to pay for his daughters college.
  9. You have been putting your time in. Congrats. Good luck with recovery.
  10. Oh and congrats on what sounds like a dandy!
  11. My taxi just tells me to freeze the head and cape until I see him. He prefers that we cape all the way down to ears so he is not defrosting a big hunk of neck. So I just lower the cape and head in a contractors bag and put it in a chest freezer.
  12. Poor Natalie had some type of allergic reaction and mom is out of country. We will be watching cartoons together this morning. But I will be checking in so good luck folks.
  13. So cool Otto to see you have success first season with a bow. Well done.
  14. Knew someone would make that comment. Figured pygmy. Lol
