  1. I have the HHA optimizer lite with a .019 pin.
  2. I really like the clean view Bob. My longest is only 32-33yds too. But if you shoot a multi pin, this just eliminates unneeded clutter.
  3. Law i know you want one. This is the only bow I have ever shot I would call a game changer. The speed and that set system far exceeded hopes. Buy one. You won’t regret it. This one ain’t leaving my clutches.
  4. So my buddy wanted to fine tune his Matthew’s at 40yds and chrono it. While we were at it, I decided to finally set up the enkore I bought last year. First that set tuning system flat out works. I spent 5 min getting a bareshaft to shoot straight at 20 last year. Never touched it and had bareshaft and fletched within inches of each other at 40yds right off the bat. For those that bareshaft tune, you know how hard that is at 40. This was a piece of cake. The bow is 71lbs, 28.25 DL and I am shooting 520g arrows. It chronoed at 284 average. Higher than the bio rating of 340. Thought the chrono might be off but boy did it shoot far flatter than any bow I ever owned. And the Matthew’s chronoed a little under its ibo rating so I felt bit more confident that the chrono was on. long story short, the Enkore is the best performing bow I ever owned and was the easiest to tune. It’s not the quietest yet but not bad. And is more dead in hand than the PSE evolve I have been hunting with. 5 stars easy. I will now focus on playing with the stop to get it whisper quiet. It’s ready to hunt when I am ready to use it. by the way, I am loving the new HHA single pin. Was so easy to sight in and get the right tape. And takes about 2 seconds to adjust distance. If I had known, I would have bought this over a multi pin years ago. Nice clean sight picture. I will probably leave mine at 25 and only adjust beyond 30 with this flat shooting bow.
  5. And deer moving most of the day. As I was typing.
  6. I guess I was fortunate. My 40acres is surrounded by a no hunting preserve and Ag lands. It’s a mix of wetlands and woods and because of the wetlands I only pay $900 a year in taxes. Always has plenty of deer and nice bucks come rut. Plus it’s about 35 min from home. Can’t build on it but it works well and is affordable for hunting land near home.
  7. 44mag is sold. Surprisingly the 10mm is still available
  8. Someone just gave me 90rounds of 10mm (180g) and 40 rounds of 44mag (240g) pistol ammo. If anyone is near Rochester and interested in buying it, shoot me a PM
  9. This is not easy hunting like Mendon. But it usually has some big boys running around. Mostly thick thick wetlands next to ag. And @TreeGuy is such a capable hunter that he can pet deer anywhere.
  10. Hope you are right. Surprisingly, the 20' stand has tons of daily doe/small buck activity now. Perhaps a historically overlooked spot.
  11. You are correct. Unless I start seeing some bucks show earlier, I will likely just wait out the early season. Not really interested in taking does or stinking the place up before real opportunities present.
  12. You got to put the one on the wall to count.
  13. And all of a sudden, that new holiday week might be my best chance at a beast. We can shoot bucks then right? Assuming I have a tag.
  14. But plenty of swamp donkeys with snouts a foot long. 2 min ago.
  15. And not in a good way. Lol. Lost my one property and first time ever, the farmer planted no crops on either side of my place. WTH. I always have beans and corn. Well they just planted winter wheat on one side which could help late season. So it’s been doe central with only little guys on camera. I might just sit it out until rut which is fine since I have not been motivated. But good news, God is watching over the property. See photo. Probably kill my biggest ever right there under His spotlight when I least expect it. Lol
  16. Not realistic - they both share the same bad barber so they have bigger problems than another’s choice about vaccination.
  17. Neck roast is my favorite cut - seriously. Crock pot that for 8-10hrs and it’s silky and falling apart.
  18. Shooting very little but really well with the black widow I killed my first PY with. I plan to hunt with it. For rifle, likely my 2A AR10 6.5 creedmoor. Or my handy little Henry 30-30.
  19. I have never paid to have a deer butchered. First one I shot, a buddy of mine who grew up working in his parents meat market walked me through the process. Done it myself ever since. I am no knife ninja like my buddy but like you said, you can’t really screw it up too bad. Culver taught me a few things over the past couple of seasons too. It did become a bit much during seasons with 5-7 deer but I am now limiting what i shoot so maybe I will enjoy the process more.
  20. Since you target tame bucks like buckles, why not just leave it on the ground and climb down while they wait for you tacks? Seems much less risky.
