Rob My honest advice is to hunt when you are motivated to do so and don’t feel at all bad when you don’t. This should not be an obligation or chore. I only hunted a few times last year and initially felt bad as I should kill my one or two bucks. Then I realized how silly that was. Didn’t shoot a deer last years after many years of 3-7 deer a season and usually a good buck or two. Guess what, it made no difference. Now I feel a bit more motivated and even scheduled a rutcation. Point is, hunt when you want and don’t feel bad when you don’t feel like it. It’s a freakin hobby that should be fun not a burden.

My house is over 5000sf of finished space and I pay around 500 per month with air and heat. You need to identify the issue. Thats insane.

Take it all in as constructive. Seriously you killed your first deer with a bow. That’s perfect. Experience allows us all to perfect it. I just started 10 years ago. Plenty of deer later, I am a different hunter. Enjoy the journey. and by the way, my first kill was a mature doe where I took out a leg with the first shot and had to put several more arrows in her. Don’t fret, now having probably 50 deer under my belt, it gets easier. and any hunter that denies having taken a less than ideal shot is probably full of it.

Not sure what you consider quite wealthy. I do better than many income-wise but I don't consider myself wealthy either. Still working and aid is not an option for me nor most of my partners. Merit scholarships I hope will be in the cards. Some 529 money but not enough to cover near that annual cost. Its simply price fixing by schools with mega endowments. My daughter has her mind set on Harvard and might just have the grades, background and ambition to get there. I shudder to think what the tuition will be. I am thrilled that my son wants to go to a SUNY school.

The cost of education is ridiculous. $320k for 4 years. Assume that has to be paid out of pocket and instead was invested for 30-45 years (expected age of child to 50-65yrs old), my kid retires with $2.5-4.5 million in lieu of college with a reasonable 5-6% return. Work a trade instead. Its not like the degree guarantees the student great income potential either. Crazy. And this comes from someone that spent 8 years in post high school education.

I would be happy to get you in a stand at my place on Sunday AM. Can't hunt Sat. PM. My property is about an hour west of Hobart. Might be a bit tough to get back to a meeting in the afternoon if you arrow something but your call. If interested, PM me.

First sit of year. Couldn’t find range finder, forgot my bow (really) and lost an arrow on way in. Should be a perfect night. Lol

Honestly Biz, I don't trust anyone handling my meat!

Lar, I may have to use your guy this year. I still am not set up for processing which make me less likely to shoot anything but a GIANT! Be in touch Bro!
