He'll be a good one Zeus

Great job out there Jon. Charter Capt.'s are earning their money right now. Its not easy to boat fish like that when the thermocline still hasn't set up. You did well.

Belated Happy B-Day Fletch.

Pygmy if my math is correct, you are still a young man. Heck my father has you by 5 years and still can kick my butt in golf.
-
Best to you DP! Be sure to check in.

Thanks all! I am putting it in reverse now. Next year I turn 45 again. I don't want to reach the age where not peeing on my shoes is lucky. Thanks for the heads up Pygmy!

Thanks Grampy. My son and I share the same birthday. Leaving work a bit early to install an inground basketball hoop for him today. Should be fun, although the heat may be a killer. Our first one on one game may have to wait for cooler temps. lol

Thanks to a roof collapse on the building next to where our boat was stored for the winter, in 2015 we had to have a partial upholstery job to our 22" sea ray, among other things. I think Best Canvas out of Williamson did that part of the repair work. Eastern European gentlemen that started out working for Steves (mentioned by larry302) and then started his own business. He does nice work and seems to really care about the quality. He didn't actually do our canvas (fixed a few snaps) but matched our upholstery perfectly (and did awnings for my fathers house). I am sure he would do a great job on a simple cover if you want to travel that far. Heard good things about Steves too.

Never shot a bighorn - I promised myself when ordering this BW that I was done with buying new bows. So please no temptation. lol

Great day for sure!

I am really spoiled Biz. Literally 4min drive from my house to the marina for world class cold water fishing.

No we didn't catch a ton of fish. Been a slow start to the season. Only 2 salmon (1 King and 1 coho) both less than 10lbs. Got a late start too. But weather was perfect and I really enjoy the time with Dad. It's well worth playing hooky from work now and then. Figured out how to run 4 dipsy divers without tangles so that was good too.

Try elite and obsession if you can. Both are smooth and great shooters. The obsession tend to be faster. Both have lifetime transferrable warranties too.

Everything I have read says learn to shoot with both eyes open. I shoot both my guns and bows with left eye closed (except when I am shooting the bow purely instinctive inside of 15yds). I seem to get double vision trying to focus with both eyes open. On the bright side, the deer seem less concerned when they notice my eye closed. I suspect they think I am sleeping.

No complaints whatsoever Law. I plan to use this bow exclusively next season. Looking forward to it. I pulled out the Kodiak mag I hunted with last year and shot a few shots. Now I know why they say it stacks over 28". Never noticed it before but after shooting this BW, it is a huge difference. The BW is much smoother.

The boga is awesome for reviving coldwater fish after a tough fight. Can't tell you how many deep fish we have brought to the boat that would have died on release if not for the boga. Oh and I really don't have any superstitions. I just blame the fish when they aren't biting.

Stubby, I am not sure why you need to offend all bowhunters with your blanket accusations of elitism. Painting any group with such a broad brush always undermines credibility. Thank goodness you stopped being an elitist when you put down your bow.

Prayers sent Grow. Get well.

LOL - but you got him in.

I don't believe in luck but I must admit we were skunked last two times someone brought bananas out. I eat a lot of bananas but not on the boat. Lol

Thermocline hasn't set up yet so its spotty finding kings, but it may be great by June 18.

Just take Dramamine in advance for a precaution. Bring some food and whatever the captain tells you to have. Be sure to have your license and don't strain a rib reeling in a monster salmon. One of the greatest fresh water fisheries in the world right here in our backyard. Enjoy it. A charter is what got my family hooked 30 years ago.

I kind of see your point in saying that a crossbow may allow for more kills in a given season, but I don't think DEC takes into account the point you are raising when setting tag limits so it really is a separate issue. Would DEC lower tag numbers if crossbows are included? I don't think so. Just my opinion.
