  1. That's great Biz. I played with my gramps until he died at 97. Only person I personally know that shot lower than his age - 90 at 91 years old from the regular mens tees. He could only drive the ball 180yds on his best shot, but was always dead straight. Enjoy those moments while you can.
  2. Core In my experience, to avoid shoulder pain when shooting, keep the bow shoulder low (I set it before drawing) and draw like you are doing a one arm dumbbell row with the right hand (keep the elbow close to the body). I prefer to draw low meaning my draw elbow does not rise above my shoulder. It enables you to really use the back to draw and hold. Didn't watch the video so not sure what he recommended. Some recommend a rotational draw, but I don't like it much.
  3. For the ability to play diverse characters, I like Johnny Depp and the late Philip Seymour Hoffman (worked with his mom at one point). But I tend to like action flicks best and as you might expect, I like Eastwood, pacino, early deniro, etc. I like Ed Norton quite a bit too.
  4. Thats one of those crimes that is really comical.
  5. Break it up and toss the pieces out in 2 or more places (like home and work), or burn it to a crisp.
  6. This a photo of all of the extra turkey parts of the turkeys I have killed: No, the photo is not missing. Darn birds have completely eluded me.
  7. For the record, I don't disagree that there can be a change in POI by using the sled, just like there is when holding a stock differently or using bags to sight in vs shoot freehand. I just think that at the ranges I can actually shoot, the difference in POI is less than the differences caused by my lack of super-marksman skill. I am not a bad shot, but I am more likely to be off by 2" at 300yds due to poor marksmanship than the fact that I sighted in with a sled. In short, this concern over a change in POI by using the sled is probably overstated for many of us. Again, just my opinion and your mileage may vary.
  8. Literally LOL on this. Thank you.
  9. This is somewhat funny. 95 percent of the deer I have killed with a gun were off hand. Should I sight in off hand? For some reason, I don't think that would yield the best result. Same reason people use a bench and bags even though that also can alter poi with different pressure on the stock. Maybe if was shooting 500-600 yds out west it would matter. The longest shot I have ever taken on a deer was 240ish yards. I did kill the deer but that just isn't my style of hunting. I like up close and personal, not sniping. Probably why I much prefer bow hunting. All I can say is that I don't have any problems killing deer with any of the guns I have sighted in using the sled at least at the distances I shoot deer. Too each his own.
  10. I disagree having actually sighted in the same rifle off bags and then with the led sled. Only difference was that my groups were slightly tighter off the sled because it is a better rest. Then again, I don't shoot 400yds so perhaps this doesn't apply for the snipers out there.
  11. Yep - its just a fabric back and you can pretty much shoulder it like any other rest.
  12. It will still give some. I use a 25lb weight on it. No problems for me or my friends with any damage to scopes or stocks.
  13. Agree with Biz. Great for sighting a gun in or to feel like a sniper for a while.
  14. Well that show is forever ruined for me. I did wonder why they still busted their butts living like that with Jewel as a family member.
  15. I like the outdoors, but not a chance I want to live like those folks. I am too spoiled. I like a nice restaurant too on occasion and a furnace that kicks on when its supposed too.
  16. I really like Claussen Whole Dills, but also learned this last year that I really like fried pickles. Waited to long to try those.
  17. I never find them either. Phade and I brought my kids shed hunting and he planted a few sheds for them to find. We basically had to point them out to the kids to find the planted sheds even when they were almost standing on the sheds. In fairness, these weren't 150" sheds. lol
  18. What is involved in a $15 tune? Can't be much more than syncing cams and setting centershot on the rest of some suggested factory setting 3/4" or 7/8" etc. with arrow level to berger hole. Real arrow tuning takes time, at least more than $15 worth of time.
  19. I can pretty much shoot whatever weight I want but generally stick to 48-55lbs. Plenty for pretty much anything in NA and easy to hold forever. I gap shoot so do hold for a while at times. I am sure you will be fine with 47lbs if that's your preference. I also like a lot of head weight. All of my recurves are tuned to shoot 200g heads with 50 or 75g inserts (total weight between 575-640). Not as flat as lighter arrows but they hit hard and fly like darts. Plus, the bows are quiet as a mouse.
  20. Look nice. I like the alternating ears. You must have some solid areas to hunt. Everything looks big down there.
  21. I will admit to never wearing a back tag. Its clipped to my back pack and that only comes in with me 50% of the time. Then again, I hunt small private parcels. They should do away with them.
  22. good deal especially if you have amazon prime
  23. Unfortunately I hear he suffers from severe buck fever and cannot connect when a live animal is in front of him. lol
  24. That sounds like a very reasonable price, assuming the whole thing isn't wetlands.
