  1. Nice job John. Much cheaper than buying new hub walls.
  2. I thought this too, but wasn't going to go there. lol
  3. No carpet in your truck bed, no gloves when gutting .... vile, just so vile .... So truthfully, half the time I forget the gloves or to put them on, but when I do remember, I am happy not to have to scrub so hard to clean my hands of the residue, especially since I am more of a grip and rip type field dresser.
  4. Steve Phade, another hunter and I often hunt together. I cannot imagine a situation where we would be fighting over who killed a deer. I would be happy to finish one off for one of them (and its still their deer) and I am sure vice versa. If that is really a concern, I agree that hunting alone is a better option, but if you are hunting with friends it should be a non-issue. Forget first fatal shot, if a friend wounded a deer and I finish it, its his (whether the first shot would be fatal or not). That's what a friend does.
  5. Not a real estate lawyer - but should mean an approved dedicated road that has never been developed.
  6. Belo Too long to explain, but lets just say that there is a reason why I bought my own press and learned to assemble and tune compounds after dealing with Traditions.
  7. Your call. If you feel like dropping it off, just PM me. Offer is open.
  8. Eddie If you buy replacement string/cables, happy to swap them for you. I am in Webster.
  9. Lol. That's is me. First time I met phade, I was loading a bloody body bag (with deer inside) in a caddy. Big Italian, caddy, bloody body bag, I asked him, what are the chances I might get pulled over.
  10. I take the "out of sight, out of mind" approach. Pretty much try to handle butchering in the garage with door closed when possible. Wrap the carcass in the tarp and toss it in a garbage bag. Not likely to convert the retirees in my area to hunters anyways. I do share venison with my immediate neighbors that like it.
  11. On the primos, you can buy a single hub wall to repair. Just an FYI. Might be true for your manufacturer. Nice job on making it useful again wooly.
  12. BTW - for those that have seen the light of using gloves for neat field dressing, feel free to PM for a pair of disposable gloves. I will sell them for $7.79 plus shipping per pair so that you aren't ripped off by that no good son of a gun selling them for $8/pair plus shipping on ebay.
  13. I turn mine inside out and leave the gutting knife inside for cleaning at home, and promptly wrap them in the disposable tarp along with my deer to avoid getting blood on the carpet in the truck bed. I kid you not, I do actually wrap the deer in a tarp and use the same tarp to discard bones, etc after butchering in my garage. Keep a supply of the tarps at home too. In my neighborhood, the fact that I have dead deer hanging in my garage makes neighbors cringe - On this site, the fact that I do it neatly, makes me suspect. Too funny.
  14. Yep - my manicurist hates when I have blood under my finger nails. I like using them but to each their own.
  15. Decided to grab some for the upcoming season. How ridiculous are the prices of "field dressing gloves" vs. disposable veterinary or breeding long gloves. I guess you can change the name and charge 10x more. Of course, I bought the much more expensive "field dressing gloves" as they are made for hunting - must be better right? Seriously, there was one pair of disposable "field dressing gloves" on ebay for like $8 plus shipping. What poor sap is buying those?
  16. On the bright side Pygmy, I do have a fixed 4x on that gun so it deserves hoarded ammo
  17. Thx grampy. Guessing that the 30lb salmon is much more likely of the two, but I like your positive thinking.
  18. Didn't pay attention to anything new this year, but when I was looking at them last year, I read that they were almost identical to obsession (some model was the same as the evo) with the exception of DL specific cams and then obsession introduced the DL specific cams this year.
  19. Gonna head out this afternoon to take one last crack at the staging kings. Caught our biggest of the year Weds. night at 27lbs. Hoping to one up that (really want to break 30lbs), but any action would be great and time with Dad surpasses the fishing anyways. Then its on to a two week doe season? lol
  20. Strother designed and very similar to obsession. Never shot one but suspect that they are good bows.
  21. I have 10 boxes of the LE at home for my 30-30 but keep shooting the cheap federal stuff because it is so darn accurate out of my Henry. Haven't even tried the LE, but may have to as I bet it does extend the range of that gun a bit.

    Rage again

No issue with the 2 blade rage. I believe, but not certain, 3 blade are considered barbed and not legal in NY.
  23. Looks really nice, but way more than I would want to haul around for my typical shots in NY. I could see it being very useful out west where you shoot at the distances you do. My longest shot was around 230-240yds and I leaned against a tree for stability. Most shots have been less than 100yds.
  24. I have a monopod but never use it. What makes this model so much better?
