good looking buck. go get em

agree that its hard to tell from his body position but front end looks pretty muscular - I would go with 3

Reasonable concern, just go with a pink or light purple color. Kinda negates the overcompensating effect. Also, while bed rug's are completely washable, never let blood touch the carpet. That's what disposable tarps are for. Personally, I can't really overcompensate enough. Pygmy hunts with a fixed 4x scope. How can one match up to that. Speaking of which, I gotta buy some 40" mudders for the sissy truck.
-
Whatever you buy, be sure to put a bed rug in. That is critical to increasing the manliness of any truck.

I have a sako 85 hunter and Bavarian carbine. I can assure you, you will not be disappointed with sako. Great choice.
-
Well you could have tagged that road kill I guess. kidding of course.
-
Don't give away all my secrets! I think I was sporting my crocs too. Good thing you were tagged out or it would have been an ugly drag.
-
I agree with this. Question though, are we supposed to keep tags from bucks killed in seasons past? I haven't up until now. They generally get discarded after processing or when I pick up the mount. If not, how does DEC prove that an antler or mount in your house is from a poached deer?

I was always a chevy guy, but bought a ford and love it. No issues so far with 42k miles (except a warped rotor that was covered and probably warped due to the dealer over-tightening the lugs - just a guess though). Can't comment on the difference between the eco boost and 5.0 but hear most like the eco boost.

I have the same gun in .308. Its a gorgeous gun and they are accurate. Good price too. GLWS

Looks like one of my reloads and I never miss deer at 10ft and in.

My neighbors are all retired and I move heavy items for them. They really don't care. I shoot towards and empty field, not towards any houses. have a 20yd range in the basement if it became an issue, but it won't.
-
I have a path mowed in the fields out to 50yds so I can shoot off my deck. Hay bales (for trad) and several Rinehart blocks for compounds. Not surprisingly, I am not the norm in my neighborhood.

welcome and good luck to you. Sounds like some great father/daughter time

We tend to buy the cheapo 15' metal seat stands from sportsman guide. They are not nearly as comfortable as the nylon seat rivers edge, but serve the purpose and only $50. If going high, hangon is the best option. I have a few 24ft altitude ladder stands and they are a bear to set. For the money, I could have bought twice as many hangons with extra sticks and its would have saved the headache of setting them.

I like that its a bar vs. cables. At least you see if its really getting bad. I hate stepping on the older hangons with cables. -
That's the one. Didn't realize that. They always seemed busy.

Victor Pro Gun had a lot of new levers in stock last time I was there. I bought my Henry there but they had marlins. They also have a pretty good selection of used rifles. Worth a look.
-
They weigh a ton. Just be aware of that if buying online. For the benefit, I prefer the reduced weight and just sight mine in. with a little practice, you will be darn close by just eyeing up a 40 and 50 yd pin after sighting in at 20 and 30. The gaps tend to just get slightly larger the longer the distance out. Obviously, reconfirm after adjustment.

BTW - as a testament to a great product, that Big Jon electric downrigger you see behind my son and a second have been in service since 1984 (when I was his age) without any maintenance whatsoever. I never even change the cable on them until last week and only because I wanted more cable. Impressive record to say the least.

shipping is the only killer, but good price.

It was so hectic trying to keep up with helping the kids, netting, reviving and releasing fish that I didn't get many photos. My wife took some. Below is my son yesterday and my daughter last week with grandpa and her silver. Pretty sure my wife has photos of my daughter yesterday but not on my phone: We fish every week but my daughter comes more often than my son. She is more of an outdoor sportsman and deadly with her 15lb recurve at 5 yds. Lol
