  1. Cams are coming alive again today. I have a feeling tomorrow will be awesome.
  2. You can easily drop to 40 or even 35 AND STILL BE EFFECTIVE. Remember guys hunt with 40lb recurves all the time and kill em. A 40lb compound has much greater KE. We can start searching for 30-40lb limbs and I will swap em for you.
  3. x1000- we have all had to let down at times. Don't quit based on a single experience. If you can hold 30 seconds, you are doing just fine. It just didn't happen on this one encounter. Plus it sounds like this new bow only spot is great!
  4. I believe it. Pressure changes = fronts = storms coming or going = deer movement.
  5. Agreed. Wind will be swirling in ravine for sure.
  6. 6 cams on 2 properties that were very active until 11/1. No daytime pics today. A few last night. Amazing how this heat seems to have changed rutting activity. Hopefully its just delayed until Thursday.
  7. I am fortunate to have tagged out, but I am seeing nearly the same. I thought my cams all died. lol
  8. I find it much easier than squeezing into a side by side and way more comfortable to ride. I don't like the sardine feeling.
  9. x2. I am a bit big for the side by sides, but my ATV does everything I need for hauling and food plotting. And way easier to jump on and off plus slightly more narrow to get through the woods. Oh and a heck of a lot more fun for my daughter to joy ride.
  10. I know this the magic day for many - Nov. 10. Best wishes and hoping that procreation drive outweighs heat exhaustion. Lets see some harvests!
  11. You need someone that really knows what he is doing to score that buck. But he sure is a dandy.
  12. The blue line is the spinal cord. You are pointing out vertebrae but the spinal cord is the blue line. Perhaps spinal cord vs vertebrae should be clarified. You can definitely shoot above the cord and will not likely recover.
  13. I think I saw that Hog on Jurassic world.
  14. Tacks I never believed a buck could be shot below spine and survive. But the buck I saw at WNY bowhunters last year clearly had a entrance and exit hole under the spine in the cavity where the lungs are. He made it and was later shot in gun. Again, I would not have believed it. You definitely can shoot backstraps above spine, but this was clearly below. It was truly a that can't be moment.
  15. Changes your draw length. Really more critical with a traditional bow that has no back wall. Not sure it makes much of a difference with a compound but it is good advice.
  16. Maybe the arrow was bent before the hunt. Hence the less than perfect shot
  17. Pretty sure it’s a blonde wolverine.
