  1. Yes I use a the new trophyline platform. Solid as a rock
  2. It is high, but the good thing is if you dont like it, all the stuff is very easy to sell. Usually people buy it quick and for what you're asking for
  3. You could also use a kneeling pad and strap that to the tree, but I already had kneepads at home. Im using the trophyline platform. That thing is solid as a rock! Ive jumped on the side to get it to move and it didnt
  4. I was thinking the same. I think im going to head to an area that has some deeper water usually and then walk the creeks around 9am
  5. Im using G5 strikers this year after using rages and nap killzones. I just got like 5 packages of killzones for free, but im sticking with the fixed heads this year
  6. Im going out duck hunting next weekend and I was wondering how you guys think the lower water levels will effect the duck hunting. Ill be hunting along the wallkill river, but im only used to duck hunting late season
  7. I have an H2 saddle that I hunted out of opening weekend. I didnt get any hip pinch, but I had a hard time getting comfortable with out knee pads. I now have knee pads and plan to head back to state land this week to harvest a doe
  8. Sorry to hear about your mother! Definitely a special forum we have here
  9. Headed out to some public land tomorrow on the Island. Found some very promising spots on onx so im excited to see what they're gonna look like
  10. I was told in my hunter ed class, as long as im off the pavement and not shooting across the road its good
  11. During muzzleloader you can use the reg season buck tag as a doe tag aswell as the muzzleloader doe tag
  12. I do mine like grant does. Just have to know what cut is good for what. You'll be slow on the first few deer, but then you'll really get the hang of it
  13. Ive done it and killed with them. By far not the smartest thing ive done and probably wont do it again. The NAP killzones kept an edge if you didnt hit any big bones so maybe id reuse one of those. I switched to fixed heads for this year though
  14. Sounds exactly what they used yo say about nose jammer
  15. Had a doe at 10-15 yards and another about 30 yards away where I originally thought about hunting. One doe was running in curcles around a small bedding area like a buck was chasing her (maybe there was an immature buck pushing her around in there). Saw a bobcat on the mahopac exit on the taconic, so I thought that was interesting. The best thing that happened today was I posted the property. Now if that guy comes back, im pressing trespass charges...ive been too nice to him and his friend in the past.
  16. In the saddle for my first sit of the year. Got in the stand around 6:50, which is a little later than I wanted. My neighbor who’s letting the trespasser hunt my land tried to f with me this morning by putting a huge cut log where he thought I’d drive in this morning. So glad I’m posting this property and hunting a lot more state land on the island this year. No deee yet, but I only really care to shoot a big buck right now as I still have plenty of meat left Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Going out tomorrow for the first sit of the year for me. Only hunting half the day, and im mostly going just to post my land to stop a guy from trespassing. Ill probably pass everything except a big buck
  18. I rmember hearing about it for other states, but ive texted friends of mine while we were hunting about deer movement. Its going to be impossible to enforce, but dont be surprised if the rule is still on the books
  19. Just bought a remington a few weeks back, hope the warranty is still good lol. Its a shame what happened to a classic gun maker
  20. Welcome! I dabble in duck hunting on the island so if you'd like we can hit some spots together. Always more fun duck hunting with someone
  21. Depends for what. For deer and bear its Barnes Vor-tx. For turkey I use heavy shot a lot and for birds I use plain ol steel
  22. You'd have to ask. I was thinking about heading to the guy I go to soon and asking him to order a few boxes.
