  1. oh, i am sure also that diseases carried by ticks and biting flies have nothing to contribute to that either...
  2. i dont think feeding deer has any signifigant connection to CWD, thats just my opinion... with year round feeding that takes place in NY illegally how many cases of CWD drummed up??? little to none... they also said CWD was coming in to area in the form of bottled doe urine as well... so i dont really belive the whole CWD gripe, i really dont... it wouldnt make to worlds of a difference to me if supplelemtal feeding was legal or not. but there is plent of natural environments where natural feeding patterns occur such as maybe one consintrated area of oaks producing acorns and a herd feeding on them, are they susceptable to CWD, why or why not? food plots, corn fields i mean c mon... its really crazy if you think about it. if deer congragte in one area to feed its ok so long as its natural but if someone is feeding deer then that herd will likely have CWD? ok lol alot of other states feed deer, supplimental feed, minerlas and so on. whats there CWD cases like???
  3. nice videos and some nice deer you have there! also, some nice mineral or bait stations you have there as well... you can see the deer hitting it right infront of the cam, you can also see they are pawing at it as well... shame shame... :
  4. nice Doe! that would be one of my top of the list once i have a little guy to introduce the sport to! cant wait... i am excited to get them involved
  5. i will have to look in to them. i was looking at an outfit named Yellow Bluff. i think they are in Georgia as well and for 600 bux i think it was 1 or 2 hogs a day all meals and lodging included... a buffy of mine went there and loved it. he went twice...
  6. this is a good time to do so. ill do some this month and around spring time...
  7. nice to see that the past 37 pages have nothing at all to do with AR. i vote NYantler and Patrockets get a room??? lol
  8. Well around thanksgiving time i recived word from 2 of my best friends they were interested in hunting with me. They asked if i would help them iron out the details and find the info out for the sportsman classes and bow hunting classes. Its pretty exciting news for me considering i get to let these guys into my world so to speak. for many years they would hear about my seasons of bow hunting / shotgun season and i could always see a spark of interest there. They both want to take the sportman and bowhunting classes. A new level for me is the interest my fiance is taking to it. she also wants to take the sportman classes this spring! im excited to say the least. im looking forward to sharing a few hunts with them and watching them evolve as hunters in the years to come. i have to show them the way when it comes to overal safety in the woods as i do not want to associate with any hunters who dont take saftey and proper fire arm handling first and for most... Im sure with my help i can carve the propper saftey and etiquette into each of them and enjoy more experiences yet to come! anyone else taking a family, friend or little one hunting?
  9. nice vid, were these long island deer of from upstate?
  10. very nice deer to say the least. but does the time and date match? is it accurate? his hoks look very dark for a spetember picture no? i could be wrong but i usually do not see there hoks being so brown until mid october maybe even late october... Bucks usually have very nice body mass by end of september early october, i mean judging the one pic you have he looks like a stud of a 2 1/2 year old or a very nice 3 1/2. i wouldnt peg him for more then a 3 year old but i could be wrong.
  11. i agree, the only way to get a true feel for the bow is to shoot both of them and go from there. i would make sure you take the smoothness and how forgiving each bow is into serious account. you can get lost in the speed world so dont base a decision off of speed alone. A dual cam bow will feel completly different then a single cam bow in regards to how smooth the draw is and also how forgicing the bow will be upon release. When it comes to smooth draw, being forgiving and speed ,mathews is a hard bow to beat... see howmuch vibration the bow creates because it will only amplify when you add a quiver, sites, rest and so on. goodluck with your choice! alot of guys can get lost with speed and the IBOs they base these bows on are "BARE BONES". no sights on the bow no fletchings on the arrows, nothing... they are all rated at a 30" draws so if your shooting a 28" draw expect to loose 20fps right off the bat with out any accessories on the bow. just allitle food for thought...
  12. wasnt expecting that lol
  13. Does anyone have any place ideas for boar hunts on the east coast? where have you gone, what did you pay, what did it include and how many boar were you able to take? thanks! Geno
  14. WOW, 3pm and not one post for February 4th???
  15. thats great that you can leave a stand on state land... provided the hunter doesnt really mind the idea that it may be stolen. i have a stand or 2 that i bought on sale for like 20 - 30 bux so that might be a good stand to put up.
  16. welcome to the site, you will enjoy it here!
  17. hard to tell from the pic, is a yearling no doubt... i never heard of them still having spots but if its a late borner i guess it possible? isnt that how we get 1, 2 3 year olds and so on? late borners?
  18. i do not see leaving tree stands on state land or trimming shooting lanes a bad thing. But then again thats just my 2 cents... i think there are worse things that happen in the deer woods then another hunter leaving a stand in a tree to save some time getting in it? If hes willing to risk the stand, whatever....
  19. Joe i kind of dont feel sorry for you lol. you 2 are like 17 pages off topic. soon 2 things will be accomplished and that is reaching 100 pages and raising your post count.
