  1. nice pics, thats a pretty nice looking buck there
  2. cool pics, you hunt upstate or out on the island? the pics look like you got some big hills, so i would assume upstate.
  3. i really want to break into this venture this year and try it... My brother does photography and does really great video editing, however he is not a hunter and will not sit in the woods for me... maybe i will try to get the wife to come in the woods with me this year. Getting her to start hunting is my next task. cool vids eddie
  4. nice! that 60mm must spool up pretty fast on your motor. i have dual 255 in tank pumps on a custom modified hanger. dual -8 feed lines, aeromotive FPR, Dual feed fuel rail, 1000cc injectors, stock return line. you have any vids of your car?
  5. i really have been hearing pike county is where its at!
  6. really? i heard good things about hadley, i was just wondering if anyone had went there. Does your wife hunt or is she just going for the ride? keep us posted on what you go with.
  7. i usually like to place my stands 20 - 25ft. 20 ft average. depends on the canopy and surrounds really... i did have a stand i placed a few years ago that was about 30 - 32ft, it was pretty high only becasue the back side of the tree was kind of on a gully and on a slope.
  8. i mean the extended season is always a plus, get you in the woods before gun season. The challenge is where its at tho. Not only is shooting out a distance with the bow, its getting those deer in prime bow range being able to get them within and placing a shot. i love the sound the arrow makes on a pass through and the way the deer reacts. i love to watch every step and move the deer takes after the shot, did he tuck his tail did he not? how far did he go on that placed shot, how was the penetration at that distance. theres so many variables that i love about bow hunting. you can learn alot.
  9. thanks guys, it was a 20" spread. if only those tines were taller he would have went further. he also had to little bumps on the bottom where double drops looked like they wanted to pop out BUT those were barely bumps.
  10. 40 - 45 i do want to start practicing longer distance tho. practicing at longer distances makes chip shots for the closer ranges...
  11. oh and i like to brew my own beer ;D
  12. That is common on all sites tho. you usually always see more views then responds. also other may chime in more when hunting season nears or is here, maybe when theres alot more to talk about? lol IDK
  13. How many of you guys usually sit the entire day in your stand? i used to get out of my stand around 1030 and shoot back to the house for lunch. Since i started spending more seat time in my stand and sitting the entire day ive been noticing howmuch deer i actually miss around the time i leave and get back after lunch. I see a ton of deer movement from between 11 and 1pm. ive shot a few deer between 12 and 1. So now i make it a point to sit the day as much as i can. Ive been seeing alot more deer the past few years doin it. just wondering if any others sit all day?
  14. Remington 870 12 ga 270 weatherby Mathews Switchback AT thats what i usually use
  15. only when people use big sigs does it clutter.. if the size is limited the server should be fine.
  16. thats awesome. bet it pays off in the long run! i have to admit that is ALOT of data at your finger tips lol. Looks like you really take the time to log down the time you spend in the woods. thats really cool
  17. thats good tho john, considering stock fuel. you have some sort of booster pump or something? what size turbo are you running? im on a stock block stock head... i love the wategates dumping atmospheric, you can just route the dump tube back into the exhaust but i personally like the open gates lol. i have 2 44's dumping straight down, love it! i was going to do methonal but ive read alot about menthonal inj caroding the motor over time. Thats why i went with just running C16. atleast with race gas i sont have to worry about my meth pump failing god forbid underboost and causing detination.
  18. i like calverton. i actually like the lil ole italian lady there who runs the lanes sometimes. her name is nelly, funny ole biddy lol
  19. Heres a buck of mine. my cousin did this mount for me. He does it as a hobby now for me and him. He used to be a taxadurmist.
  20. the best would be when i took my first buck. But i have to admit, some of my most memorable hunts were some of which i never vene harvested a deer. May have been where a hunt took place and who i was lucky enough to share it with. what i saw, when i saw it.I have SO MANY great memories with hunting and i look forward to the many more i will have.
  21. i did and i got mine for 8w. Gotta love the $10 charge they started... > just another way to make money for the state
  22. to me butchering the deer is kind of the fun part for me. We grab a beer and get down to work. I like the comrodery of it... I like to get the hide off as soon as possible and leave the deer to sit the day or night, depending when i took the deer. if it sits a few hours especially if its very cool i find it easier to butcher up, might be just me tho... get a few sharp knives, a warm bucket of water, paper towls and your freezer wrap or bags. i quater my deer up and take the quaters over to a table and start my butchering process. Its really not that hard at all. after a few deer you learn where to run your knife and make your cuts. the best advise is when your taking the hide off, be sure not to puncture the hide while removing it in order to illiviate the amount of hair you leave one the meat.
