  1. Currently work the state mental health department. I'll cap out at 50k in 6 years. I've had a lot of jobs in 33years on this planet. Before this I was in banking (despised corporate America worklife) worked in fiber optic sales, manufacturing, food service General roofing construction, groundskeeping, building maintainence and I'm sure I'm forgetting some Now that my wife is working (both kids in school) I have able to drop down to part time day shift so I can see my family more. I've spent the last 8 years working till 11pm and only 1 weekend off a month. Now that I've dropped down I am trying to decide what I want to do, I'm either going back to school to finish my teaching degree or going for a trade. I know I don't want to look back on my deathbed and feel that I worked a job I didn't care for , for 40 years. Now to figure out what I'm gonna do. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  2. I picked up the hooks custom stalls messenger grunt call.. I like it so far. Grunted a doe into range with it so far. Like it better than the first one I had previously. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  3. The other trees won't have a shot on the trail this stand is positioned on. But for all I know there is another one near them. With only 3 more weeks of bow left however I may be better off with a gun stand. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  4. That's a great idea Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  5. Problem with going higher up is that to fit the stand (And me standing) I'd have to cut branches 3inches in diameter and lose more cover. I essentially be in the same predicament I sat as still as possible this morning. Knowing I was probably sticking out. I guess I'll have to reassess the tree. Sticks were swinging out away from tree on the way down. Gonna have to reposition the straps. I'll get in there in the middle of the day in the few days and walk to the other trees to check them out as well. The entire field has been untouched in the 3 years I've been hunting here. Have a tripod stand on the other side of it this year for gun. I had a cam in the small clearing[20-30ft] in the woods to my left. Lots of pics from sunrise and sunset moving to and from the bedding. There's a perfect tree tall and straight right in the clearing. But the deer move right through it and I'd have no shot into the field. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  6. Sun rises to my back Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  7. Yes it is nice and solid. Just have to blaze a trail through the dense thickets to the left of my current stand when sitting in it Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  8. Also have these options. I'm thinking maybe the triple tree? On the right center of pic Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  9. Platform is about at the 12 foot mark. Couldn't get higher up the tree due to too many large branches. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  10. 280 and large framed Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  11. Some pics from the stand. The one with bow shows a lane to the trail. 20 yards. The one showing my path is straight ahead out of stand. Where path disappears behind the bushes in front is where the trail crosses. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  12. Looking for opinions on whether this stand is too exposed and I should move it. About 20 yards off a heavy use trail that crosses from this finger of woods to the bedding area and crab apple grove. Far off pic is from the game trail. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  13. Feeling nekid Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  14. Sitting here in the set I hung yesterday. And I realize. I just may have done a wee bit too much trimming and I am now way over exposed on this field edge. Looks like I'll be moving trees in a few days. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  15. Anyone going out for the storm tomorrow morn? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  16. Congrats on the harvests!!! Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  17. Lots of good options. Mine are still on ice while I decide what to do with them. Is there some trick to getting the slimy bloody "bubbly" membrane off some of these major muscles? I don't mean the silver. I try scraping it with blade spine and with blade itself but it doesn't work too well. Picking it up and off to cut it an inch at a time is finger numbing. 18. What should I do with them. My understanding is they are predominantly for grind. Seems like alotta work for a bit of meat. I alrdy have 15lbs I need to grind in the freezer. Guess I got a big grind day ahead of me Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  19. Lemme know if you get better results with the other bullets. Exit hole was same size as entry Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  20. Yes clean every 2 shots during sighting and hunt with a clean barrell Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  21. I'm debating on going back to do a more thorough search for the first deer. Which would require asking for permission to cross property lines. But at 65 all day the meat would be a waste correct? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  22. Im guessing i had a case of non expanding bullett someone mentioned earlier. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  23. Found the second. No blood found. Found body about 100 -150 yards from hit site. Deer was slightly quartering too. Hit low behind shoulder and due to shot angle (blind is on top of hill shooting down) it missed lungs and went through an inch behind them deer had about 8 inches of fat/matter out exit wound plugging hole. Entrance wound running down leg. Found a spot of blood on crick on the drag out. I held low on the boiler in case it was shooting high. Searched for the first shot for another 30-40 minutes. Well past 200 yards of shot site. Glassed woods for belly and walked deer trails. I'm guessing I hit dirt or shot high on the first. Only had top 2/3 of deer in scope (couldn't see legs) Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  24. Recovered and processed. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  25. Heading out in an hour with my buddy to check blood again on both instances. Then to the range. Maybe a second set of eyes will help. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
