I have quite a few flashlights..... I'd recommend a Convoy l2 for throw or fields... A streamlight c4 is a great triple a flashlight clip allows you to clip it to the brim of your hat as a headlight. For general use I have a streamlight stylus pro. 2 double a's. Lots of advancements in led tech the last few years... China is throwing out killer lights. Hand lights - "on the road m6," even the ultra fires on amazon for 12$ Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk

Binoculars vs monocular. For hunting.
zeus1gdsm replied to zeus1gdsm's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
Thank you for all the responses! Well I am definitely swayed away from the monocular. I took a long hard look at the Leo Yosemite. But it will only save me about 5 ounces. Got an order in for a set bushnell trophy xlt 8x30. 15.5ozs. I was pretty impressed with the 8x42s so hopefully these measure up. Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk -

Anyone have experience with the 25mm objectives? My concern is that the small objective will not capture enough light due magic hour. Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk -

3) how do 25mm objectives perform in dusk/dawn hours? Long distance? Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk -
So the wife got me a set of bushnell bone collected trophy xlt 8x32 binos for Christmas. Great gift. But they are almost identical to my current bushnell. So I'm looking to exchange for another optic... I've been thinking of trying to lose some bino weight. Specifically from 25-28 Oz down to 15ish. I'm not finding alot of decent options in hat weight range so I have a couple questions. 1) how do 10 or 8x25/28s fare for hunting? This size is about the only way I can get down to 15oz.... Or a set of double the cost 8x32s. 2) what about monocular? Any one use them for Hunting? Recommend one around 150? Thanks for the input! Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk

I use the ultrapod for filming my monthly adk hikes with my buddies.... Awesome Lil mount. Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk

I was thinking the same. Info online points to heavier rod/reel for salmon and a longer lighter rod with medium reel for steels Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk

Thanks I appreciate it! Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk

That's what I was thinking as well.... I appreciate than input... Any experience is better than my 0 experience.... Not finding too much specific info online Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk

Awesome thanks! I appreciate the input. I picked up a 10' medium light action rod and threw my president on it. A month or so ago. But the reel only holds about 175yards of 8lb test.... I was going to use this for both, but with the new rig I may be able to just dedicate one to salmon and another for steelhead... Which rod should I use for steelhead? 10' med light or the Fenwick? So I had a salmon rig in my amazon list. And the wife sent it to my in-laws. And they got it for me for Christmas. The rod is a Fenwick hmx 10'6 light action. And the reel is an Okuma avenger 40. When I put the items on my list I was looking at the avenger 30 or 20. Now that the 40 is in my hand it looks huge. Reel here.: https://www.amazon.com/Okuma-Avenger-ABF-Graphite-Feeder/dp/B001VAT44Q Purpose of the rig is for salmon and steel head..... I'm sure the huge reel will be good for salmon. But is it a bit too heavy for steelhead? With two spools I can set one for steelies and another for salmon. And will the rod be okay for salmon? All fishing will be from shore on salmon river. I was extremely grateful and definitely owe the in-laws some more projects.. A 100$ rod is well out of my normal price range. And the items were in a "maybe someday" list. Been telling the wife I wanted to get into the river this year while waiting for spring turkey season. And then again for the run in the fall. Merry Christmas all! Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk

Large food plot suggestions.
zeus1gdsm replied to zeus1gdsm's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
So maybe in stead.of a full clearing we will remove the non food plants such as the thick woody bushes and thorns. And instead clear some solid lanes and prune the Apple trees. Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk -
