Settled in and reading this.. look at my coat...17 ft tree stand ,clear trail in...a tick is booking it up my coat for my neckline... so much for cold nocking them down . Shots, but far off. One angry squirrel across the garden under apples ...snow is about gone now ..leaves making more noise 40 more mins.

Shot and dropped a doe at 30 yards..she popped up and got in to a no shot area(heavy brush) then walked away eating as she went! My mind said no way with the 20 ga. in an open area at shot....So I watched her carefully. Well over a hundred yrds up hill I see her tail go straight up and then drop. Did everything you guys mentioned to find her dead..not a single drop of blood because the slug never actually entered her body...not one hole in her... but blood gushed out of her when gutted...and one small star shaped tear in her liver..I found the slug ,attached to the plastic wadding just under her fur between skin and fat on hide when skinning her...Learned a lot that day....

You should see the tracks on our place...everywhere...but not during the day and if they are... they have guns waiting for them if they decide to move off. Unless to sanctuary property...came home from TG.Dinner...huge fat doe running down drive to get to sanctuary across the street... Mr. B yells ..look at the size of that doe!!!..Sure she was eating in the front garden..bittersweet, Cortland's, raspberry, comfrey, and bamboo....Lol. Luck... you still need luck no matter deer numbers, weapons,land,or skill. I use to say it's like a chess game.. but I really think it's more like poker..

Made a plan putting up another pop up tower blind just about where they came in to get that buck..paint their side of legs orange..I like this area but dang cold

Well they got the hint about terrain and camo and I could have easily accidentally shot one of them while they were sneaking around. I just stepped behind one of the big trees My stand is in.. it hides me from his view.. I'll pop out in a moment to make a point...

Back out for last two hours...did a slow hour walk to Rivers blind...lol which may have been where that 12 originated from this morning tracks look the same one foot had a funny split...I was in the blind 100 yrds farther away. Any ways fresh tracks around blind ...fawn so heres hoping something shows up before close and in range..doubt it..but I' getting my exercise.

YA Steve and it's all my fault..how dare I post or hunt my own land I'm so sick of the DEC BS..if I was at camp region 9 I would have called. .but this is 8 and as far as I am concerned worthless..I made him very inconvenienced ... had no plate #'s Because they ran.it was my word against them and the owner lied right from the get go..Saying they weren't driving the vehicles I described,but the kid admitted it in front of him...I took pictures of t h e prints and drag...I'll hang him out to dry with the farmer...I took care of him as far as rep. because the town clerk will handle that nicely ..she heard the entire conversation...plus she got into his tax records and found some inconsistency....Now when he arrived with these 2 young guys. I had to make a decision.. When I was done they looked like 2 whipped pups, I also whipped the owner in front of them. I let him know that I set out to inconvenience him as I was..I screamed to get him as upset as I was so he knows how it feels. Told him when he allows hunters,he is responsible for what they do. HIs permission makes him responsible by allowing access putting them in proximity of neighboring property's. They apologized several times. You can be guaranteed the Cops will be called next time.

Well guys I left and did a slow walk to back of property where I saw I had kicked up a big deer when I came in this morning...I follow tracks along my stone to the gully where I see a drag and blood with 2 sets of prints crossing from my place over the fence... I follow a hundred yard drag through my land to find the place 2 peopls grabbed the deer and took off with it ...not gutted...I follow tracks back to farmers open field to see 2 pick ups on the land next to his...well they must have seen me because by the time I got to the house in the car and to their land the next road over they had ran. Now I am crazed...can't find owners #...I go to town hall ...let me tell you EVERYONE WILL KNOW NOW...,because I had the town clerk witness the call...he refused to give their names ... Now I'm about screaming at him when he said I can't control who's on my land...Hey do you think I lost it at that point..no not untill he says thats not the color vehicle and they don't own a truck..F me! that trucks been there 3 years in a row!! To shorten this he lives in a different town...I made him come to the site and he brought the 2 little butt wipes with him 2 young kids 18-20's no tags and refusing names ...I raised holy hell with them for 25 mins. they shot the buck on farmers land ,no permission and they walked past my posted sign ..WITH MY CELL NUMBER ON IT and retrieved...wait for it....."a small 12pt" They dragged through my place because they didn't want the farmer to catch them dragging a 12 off of his... I didn't bother with the DEC and the owner yelled at me I'll buy your land what do you want?...I can't repeat what I said...then he asked to speak with my husband,,,can't repeat that either.... 2017 is going down as the worst stinking season I have ever had....

What a complete waste of my time...I suppose I have to admit when I'm just over it..really...

Heard one shot off new nieghbors...he may have gotten one of the bucks he told me about...where we were trying g tij catch the lease guys.. another shot down the hill aways..we'l they are moving just not here...color me wildly surprised lol.. very pretty out though.

How to tell your morning is probably shot before it begins... you enter the area you plan on hunting in a snow storm...you look down to see a herd of tracks uncovered..going in the opposite direction your going..off your property
