One reason I stopped hunting camp...I put in the best sets and in the best places...I had one particular set I told everyone ... no 4 wheeling to it and you have to enter from the road ONLY!..They were driving the 4 wheelers right to it and they were walking through the bedding area to get to it ...because it was shorter to walk...killed the stand...and it was a big wooden hang on I made...then I had a ladder stand and .they were all using it ...smoking cigarettes ect..ect... Not one of these guys would bring there own stands to camp to hunt. Then one left a message I needed to loosen my ladder stand because it was growing into the tree...I hope the tree ate the darn thing... The kids and Mr B can use any set they want here at home...NO one else is allowed to hunt this property...

I'm back in...I sat in that blind watching that doe chew her cud...snowing blowing and she's squinting against it all. Then it hit me ...she has gone through all this and when she gets up and if she crosses that property line I'll kill her...nope I watched them too long while fighting the cold my self..

Frost heaving pic...So I get back to blind and decide to see if the doe are,still there..Dang they are! They must have stretched because the one was facing the blind...I don' know how but I managed to climb to deck ,walk across in the open ,open the door out and step in closing it without being seen. They are covered in snow and it is snowing and blowing hard here. Gosh they've been there since day break.

Better luck Paula....I'm going to have too leave .dressed for a blind and my ace is about frozen feet too. Besides this non stop knawong I'm hearing from rodents is driving me nuts ..a owing pretty good now

Tired of. Hearing shots down in the swamp. So left those bedded doe and took a stroll down hill. Dang crunchy with ice heaving from ground water. Ice crystals 4-6 inches above ground. Seat had been moved..they must have been ticked to find it un attached... lol I carry the pins on me ...but dang this metal mesh is COLD,!.. guy next door moved in yet another camper directly across from the stand and right on the line...he apparently doesn't' read the set back laws..campers don't count..lol

Where do you think the air comes from..lol I open the windows and have the air intake pointed towards the out side..fresh cold air enters fresh warm air dries..no matter how good you house smells it contains "house " odors..wet hair is an odor collector... BTW two doe just came in and bedded 5 ft behind my posted sign 80 yrds away.

You too Mike ...just finishing my English muffin throwing on coat and headed out The wind is howling and when I blew dried my hair it felt like it was blowing a snow /rain through the window....Always use outside air to blow dry my hair..only makes sense...maybe I'll see something in range after 7:09...whopping 27 with a feel of 19 and getting colder... Today was typical...nothing until dark and walk home I Kick out 3 in upper plot...hunters are gone now ...hopefully locals have buck tags filled and deer will relax a bit by Tues....Hoping smaller guys took out a few hunters and Couple of bigger boys were smart enough to hide...To be honest really hope most big doe have hit the ground. Those could start a reset on movements for next season. I have had plenty of time to think on next season changes. Oh...upper field oats/ grain was demolished over night. BIG CONGRATS TO EVERYONE THAT CONNECTED SO FAR.

Not even a bird ..but just heard a shot below me. Thought they'd be out to eat in this cold and snow...sitting over a WW ,clover,brassica plot and an area I planted oats and alfalfa in..plus my best dropping red oak trees and I still have chestnuts on the trees...though the neighbor down the hill has two mature loaded chestnut trees. ..35 more mins.

I had a bad one..with orders no weight or lose foot.. cast all of foot to knee and new steel plate and screws in leg and ankle..cried until Mr B wrapped me up in a 55 gal. Garbage bag with duct tape grabbed some pillows and drove me to a brush turkey blind. I crawled in with his help and he set me up with the pillows for elevation and a cell phone and water and gun..kissed me and said when you can't handle it anymore call me..still in walking cast in fall he bought me my first climber and I bow and gun hunted with a full leg walking cast...

Dead today..lots of shots around but nada here did a slow glassing walk out to blind..last night and today we had several cars stoppng on the road at dark so someone' seeing something in our fields. I pulled several cards and did field checks nothing .not even fox or raccoon.. I can tell you at this point if I do get something the guts will get opened. Snowing hard here again wish I packed buddy heater Winds picked up but have dbl curtains up...fleece blocks a lot of lower winds

Just had 6 doe and fawn come through 76 yrds just too dark and they decided to chase each other as they passed. .man it's dark out close is at 4:46... Dang! I hope this let' up before I have to leave ..and there are,a bunch of shots going off its coming down in sheets ..a lot of shots!

Just had a doe clear the ridge..think she got the hunter next doors scent ..heats with kerosene. .no water or septic...any ways she turned and left.. rains just arrived. It's pouring...we'l I'll see if roof leaks

No sooner sat down in blind,first sit here all year a gun only blind ,I Spot 10 dogging a doe with twins. She bedded on the property line but he bumped her. I tried doe bleat then grunt and got his attention..when he started looking for the deer and didn' see them he slowly broke from the doe and went into a non hunting property....You can tell he's been hunted..the doe angled up my way 75 yrds. But sky lined. Finally a sit where deer are doing what they usually do...lots of shots just now.everyone in this section hunts in camo

Congrats guys...Well I said I surrender and did so before checking cams on the way home...the stand I wanted to sit in last nite I couldn't due to getting home late from errands...15 mins before close big wide 6 pt is 15 yards or so eating calmly head down...go to cam across from where I sat and saw nothing last night...this morning 2 mins after opener a wide thick 8 point strolls by at 39 or so yards...cam is 49 yrds from stand.. So bow has followed me to gun season...

Something at end of lane way spooked them .ran behind hunters place in nieghbors swamp...bang bang..

Sorry had to like that too funny Got dark again so moved to blind...needed to lower windows anyways. Not eally hunting now..I officially surrender this season... freaking frig...ya that's right it's the frig's fault...nieghbors across street just shot.and now someone in my swamp. 2x's. ...3 times I hope they trip and get tangled in the rose brush and have scars for life!
