  1. If you have space..consider Mulberry trees...remember my spring /summer pics off the mulberries? Dunstun Chestnuts,if they release the new resistant Americans that's even better..taller narrow growth.
  2. Want out late because the second I started out the first time...the wind went completely WILD! So I went out to the garden stand and set up mister Bobbin head buck 25 yrds out in front and to the side of my stand. Wind had him moving so naturally, he really looked so very real. I climbed up and sat down facing the other small ridge that is the hedge row and neighbors lane way..No sooner Sat down theres the buck I'm hunting getting up from his bed nearly under the stand I have there..Seriously! He laid up there and watched me 90 yrds away setting up the decoy....Closing.... I got home to send Mr B off to camp..on the way out the door he says...I hope you kill that big one..Ha Ha!...I knew he wasn't telling me exactly what he saw the other night....trying to make me feel better..Well at least he's still alive...
  3. I am going to have to look for the pictures of these deformities in THIS PARTICULAR HERD...because I have yet to see any... As far as what you conveyed from the head of the conservancy. I Have to note that that is the printed officical stance that can be read and repeated from many sources. Forgive my scepticism concerning THIS herd...for I can ,as I'm sure you could as well, hundreds of I stances where the " Scientific community " had to back peddle rethink their stance on things. Recessive genes are as I said a common thing..not necessarily a bad or " messed up" thing ie.. perfect eye sight in humans..product of a recessive gene..look up recessive genes in humans if you want an eye opener on the subject.
  4. Have you seen picture of the Seneca deer displaying the things you just mentioned? Every living creature carries and eventually displays one recessive trait or another..making us all genetically inferior. I can also look at the predation like this...They have now formed superior camo protection from predators being Northern snow belt born...for in deep snows where coyotes can walk above the snow pack and they can not, when coyote do their biggest share of killing of white tail exhausted from the rut or young and snow bound,as it were..They have a perfect fur to blend in...They are really only more vulnerable to us visually speaking...points of view.
  5. 1.5oz of lure of any kind is what the regulations state...That is in liquid form...soak rags if they couldn't wring out more than 1.5 oz...soak in as much as you can
  6. Now that's not really true...ever been to a live stock action?I have been to many...old dry cows are sold all the time...And the farmers sitting around you can be heard saying..." There goes a McDonald's burger"
  7. You do know I'm not for mandatory AR' s correct? There is also a difference between talking about genetics and evolution...Did you some how read where I said anything about evolution ..must I tell you that the words evolve and evolution are listed as separate words and have different meanings to context. Same as with inbreeding and line breeding being the same yet different....BTW Generations of people have been in and line bred...most all domestic animal farm and pet are bred this way..do a little reading...I've viewed the pictures of several different white deer herds..Seneca isn't the only one. The only anomaly they have shown is the recessive gene for white, non pigmented fur. This does not qualify your "genetic screwups " comment. I find this go around to be pointless so let's call it a day...I'm going hunting.
  8. If You found me condescending...well your right...I just re-read your post again and I am astounded at some of the things you said...can't help it...If I touched on all the things and tried to explain I'd have half my day wasted... BTW this first quote is yours, the next, is a learning tool and do not speak of genetics until you have a complete understanding of it. These deer are not Albinos...How do you think new breeds evolve? and how do you think dog and cat breeders produce new breed and breed traits? http://senecawhitedeer.org/white-deer-natural-resources/white-deer-seneca-army-depot/
  9. Here I sit in 8N and we have land in 8X...world of difference on body size to age class...8N has few ag fields???? I can go to my back line and see ag fields well, for as far as the eye can see. So thats not true where I live...On top of that , I won't bother trying to explain to you their natural resources. Now I'm not going to waste my time going through my pics to show you what a big bodied deer is...I've posted big bodied and big racked bucks on here. Besides I surely am not going to post the best bucks in the area...but because doe are naturally smaller than buck any ways I 'll show you lasts nights big doe...and yet again, mention the sheer size of the doe we have caught on came in this area.. OMG you went to the gene pool...Now I can just laugh out loud and shake my head...Next thing your going to tell me is a spike is always a spike You'd best make sure your AR agenda accounts for that!...hahahaha
  10. No such thing as free speech in this country anymore....He paid a price...
  11. Sounds to me like he's never shot an older buck in full rut...I get queasy just cutting open the vacuum seal on that bow buck from last year..I think I'd have an easier time drinking the swamp water he was living in over his flesh...
  12. Dang that's a mess...a big old tarp for the roof for right now. Tarps for the floor and a big ole trash can ..crowbar and a good hair drier...A spray bottle with bleach water...spray every thing that got wet up there. The last thing you want is blk mold to develope. Warm rising heat and moisture...it happens fast..bleach kills mold and mildew, not a bunch of bleach but more than a cap full hair drier to dry it up the best you can as fast as you can...or a good fan on high point to the ceiling...Good Luck!
  13. OMG...PLEASE DO NOT USE CHICKEN WIRE! For one thing you'll have more problems from rodents in the winter than deer...They will..this is a guarantee ,girdle them in the winter when snows get deep...use tubes or 18 " sections of drain pipe cut on one side. Then buy one roll of goat fencing ...make cages that extend 2' either side of trunk all around and two sturdy stakes to hold that on place. A buck that sticks tines through that is less likely to get stuck and go crazy...If he does its sturdy enough to USUALLY keep him far enough away until unstuck. Ever run your hand over chicken wire? It's the equivalent of a dull grater...small and flexible enough to get a rack thoroughly tangled...all you'll find in the after math is maybe a wad of fence and shredded broken tree....also treat around the trunk ,especially spring and fall with grub killer borer grubs have taken out more of my trees that deer. Check to make sure those apples are ones that bare every year, not every other.A study was done that found deer tend to favor yellow and green Apple's over red ones. Having varieties that stagger dropping from late summer through archery season will bring in and perhaps hold deer. Wild elder ,blk.berries and blk.and red raspberries transplant well and are free..if you know someone with land.....also fruit food plots...plant far enough apart to run a tractor or 4 wheeler between(remember to figure mature trunk size at planting....this way you can put in clovers. Good for trees, nitrogen, good for year around deer/ turkey...I'd plant blueberry over elder first...try and find wild. Tip: there is edible(human) and inedible elder. Inedible flowers early spring and sets red berries. Edible sets in summer with blk. Berries. Now in winter you can tell by breaking off a stem the edible has a white pithy center and the other a dark one. Deer turkey love both.
  14. Tossed salad, baked cod smothered in a fresh made pineapple salsa , fresh sliced mushrooms and, broccoli
  15. Since you broke that up into 3 distinct replies,I'll simple point this out: 1. ) weak 2. ) weaker 3.) Weakest
  16. Went to Rivers blind and hey Biz...I used my hickory oil lure...I had a fawn feeding about 122yrds down the lane way . Then about 4 another deer joined it...gosh glassed it and it looked like a really young doe the fawn was a bit smaller than her...finally they start my way and I'm still not quite sure at 58 yards I was almost off the fence and it turned broad side then swung it's head around and over the sweet spot to chew it's back...Well that gave me more time to think...then suddenly it turned and went right into the brush...lol Figures...So I watch Mr B drive by at 15 after...I get home at 10 to 5 and his first words words where were you? See anything..after the second time he asked..... I rolled my eyes and said just tell me...Well.....as I was pulling up a nice sized 6 or 8 trotted out of our hedge row across the street and right past the house into our woods 50 ft from the front porch. Wonderful was going to put out the decoy and sit in the garden blind...but the wind was so bad I figured if I went low it would be as rough and the deer were probably low as well...So much for that!
  17. Annie oils OMG why won't it except that word...I got it! I'll beat this dang thing one way or another ... A n I s e ...Hahaha! Take that Kindle!
  18. Legal to cut trees and trim branches.
  19. Well yes there is...it's a proper name
  20. BTW...The Kindle refuses to take the correct spelling on that..It is only 1 n and an e at the end. I'm not sure there is a word spelled annis
  21. Buck love to rub aromatic trees...if you are seeing fresh rubs use the nut oils...also these curiosity scents sold ..many use Annie oils in the mix...I believe you can Goole this to check if you want.
  22. The wind is so bad Angel is hiding in the bath tub shaking and whining ......this is getting real old...
  23. Never tried but hazel nut and hickory nut oils... annis oil is a big one for buck and vanilla for call deer..watch the annis if bear are in the area
