The copter flew rt over my head ... . Had a goldish color to it and I thought it looked like Mercy flight...I can't get the details on the second death....all they say is under investigation and then first one was a tree fall. The text message our son got was a shooting on the second ..trying to confirm. They also gave no age.

I posted this on the first shots heard...but would like to hear better info than the internet search I did...2 opening week end deaths in Livingston county...info very sketchy on the second one....

We have them all over camp...need to be a bit careful climbing up in stands in the dark...our son sat as it got light and had one sitting on a branch just above and rt of his head one opener.....he got a cell pic of it.

Well did a search...2 dead so far in our area...both reported as tree falls but one confirmed shooting...both under investigation...that's all I found on web.

SO Saturday I hear the fire alarms go off...don't think much of it I also see what looked like Mercy flight speed bye over head going towards Dansville hospital. That I assumed was hunting related. Mr B tells me our sons friend sent him a text message...... a guy on the road Behind us was shot Saturday morning... I can't confirm, I don't watch the news.That is the area I heard the sirens and backup beepers...You guys watching the Rochester news see anything?

Live from the computer room...This wind woke me 3 x' s last night,and we have a well insulated house. To dangerous and not even close to enjoyable out there. I really don't need a buck or any deer that bad. 22 degrees with 22 mph winds even the deer deserve a break in this crud. Please be safe if your out there.

I've had to strip all my gear and drop them in the dryer 2x's today....and the toe warmers came out and the buddy heater is on standby....lol drying out range finder ,bino's and gun wiped and ready for another oiling...Thank heavens for boot driers.

I can't like that ,but understand...guys at camp are getting the same...but they don't have the worry of falling trees I have...whole different type of wood lot down there. No maples

So I went out late...blizzard conditions and decide to walk over the hill into the wind to a blind I was in... I had the cam cards so stopped to put them in on the way...standing next to the tree and finish closing cam door ,look up and yelp!...For I wasn't expecting the triplets to be standing 10 ft from me just staring...well they turned and ran the way I was headed... I'm sure telling every other deer over the hill to run too.....lol The guys saw a bunch of spikes and a few doe with fawns...

I'm thinking of going to the turnip blind I was in this morning...but not too hopeful they will show with these winds...They can hit the low side of the farmers WW and just pop up out of the gully there...that's what I'd do if I were them. He has a wood lot between us and the gully then field ...so I have no way of catching them there un less they come off us...They aren't on us right now... they are low in the swamps and in the pine plantations

Dang! that's a big boy! Congrats! Now in a few days...With a little Advil and some gentle massaging of the sides of your face, that pain from the smile your wearing will subside ... edit...in a week or so..

OK this wind is so angry I just felt a pang of sympathy, watching the trees take this beating...lol

same thing could happen if you hit a rock in the ground...I shot at a blood soaked foaming at the mouth dog that charged me...No time to raise the gun it was literally thumb safety and hip shot...the slug missed and the dog veered off down the hill...but I heard a yelp and saw a hunched up dog run into our gully bleeding...I never even saw this other dog.. I called the cops who came out to investigate the scene and told him who I thought owned them...he got to the house and the owner was picking lead fragments out of his dog arse out in the garage. The slug hit a rock and the ricocheting fragments struck the other dog

I'll say it's windy...It has cleared part of the driveway. When I was out on a slow stalk the trees were snapping and falling all over.....widow makers galore coming down and one broke the railing on the blind I was in...that was when I called it a morning. I'm not to sure it's worth the risk going out this afternoon. Snowing and 20-30 mph sustained winds with 50mph gusts...and that's no joke I believe they are! Ma nature's cleaning house again...Wish she wouldn't leave her cleaning piles on my trails...

Dang Larry those are some Leupold type eyes you have there...lol Our legal sunrise was at 7:07 yesterday and I sat on the low side of a West facing hill in the woods. I could not tell what the buck that stood 15yrds away was. I could not see the orange bead at the end of my gun barrel at 6:30...See the sun was coming up, was way over on the east side of the hill.I couldn't even see the actual sun until past 8a.m.

I went to the wooden blind ,which gets hammered in a wind storm that is N/W or W/N it sits on the edge of the bigger field and turnips...bedding...6:30 one big doe feed through...yes Doe...the at 7:15 a doe came in quick behind the blind stopping in several lanes ,but she kept back checking. I decided to hold and see if a buck was behind her....she went across the street....Bang! 8:30 I decided to go check the blinds and lay down some of my own tracks along the property lines while checking morning deer movements,before the snow covers their tracks. just 3 crossing us and I found the camp behind our southern property(across street) has a new ladder stand set 70Yrds from our line cresting the hill facing their down hill slope...Thank heavens...I have a stand at the bottom of that same slope 70 yrds from their line face up hill.....It has always scared me that one of them would sky line a deer on the ridge and shoot me...last owners , no one hunted. Now from that stand he can't miss my orange. Any ways the lease guys are shooting up the back corner and the camp son next door is still here...He must be a bad shot...no deer in sight and he must have gone through 3 boxes yesterday... So pulled cards first two,blind I was in this morning...I hope they shoot all these deer this year...freaking nocturnal be-outches..
