  1. Best wishes with the knee...listen to those Dr' s and therapists.
  2. Seeing you addressed me let's get a few things straight...what ever comments I made, were using your word ...copied quotes from you. NOW as to quotes, it was you that said ,out of 3 shots you not being perfect missed 2 times. I don't much care what you did off a bench rest...You and that deer ended that situation on pure unadulterated luck for both of you. You may want to look up, 2 Corinthians 11:19. ...It is your words that make that passage come to the forefront of my thoughts.
  3. Good luck and enjoy the new place while keeping fond memories of the old...
  4. No hunting but on the way home just now...I take a very slow drive past the swamp road footage down below...We have 411' of road frontage there...I am half way across and what pops up out of the 6ft deep culvert ditch right at my window? A doe...and she looks over her shoulder and continues to climb the bank then stop...We stare at each other 12ft or so away and I finally say to her..."Hey do ya think you could walk up the hill to the property behind the house for me?" She blinked...looked away and then back at me for about 3 sec...Almost like she was thinking on it.... You know, that can be a long time in some instances...lol Then she just turned and slowly walked through the wild rose...From the first week of bow ,when I missed a doe, I haven't had one in range and on our land once...fawn but not good doe during legal light....That encounter sums up how my seasons been...lol...what long eye lashes she had!
  5. Lol ...then he goes and finds his old athletic cup and puts it on....for he knows whats coming next when she gets home and opens the door...
  6. yes it was... and did this to boot:
  7. Dang .........46rkl,looks like that wind blew you right upside down! Good luck out there...lol
  8. Lol...I knew the point....If it takes a tree hugging liberal...so be it...hunters don't seem to get it. For they have been the ones wanting It blocked.
  9. You do know that last sentence makes no sense ...why would a non hunting tree hugging liberal be effected by Hunting regulation?...even with such a needed regulation, tree huggers could be shot. They would not be required to wear orange. Vizslas...seriously ,shot over is bow...wow! You certainly were correct in another post....
  10. I thought I'd like this...but it just pizzed me off...what a joke...for one thing he should do jail time for the car chase alone...fleeing police and putting the public in danger with a high speed chase...I don't give a damn if it was back roads...people live and walk on back roads too...
  11. I love how more stuff comes out as these post continue..."Everything cam together".... A texas heart shot ..very narrow target, on a moving deer and sky lined at that, on public land?.... You know what prayer I see answered? The prayer some other guy made that was hunting that area..... to make it through the day without being shot.....
  12. Well this quote surely gives those last 3 words merit. There is one huge thing that wearing orange can do for the poor guy that gets shot wearing it. It can assure that the individual ,mentioned in those last 3 words, gets properly prosecuted. That instead of it was just a hunting accident really....I just couldn't see him.
  13. Correct Doc...... this goes to my post, about slow stalks...Now 9 out of 10 times there's nothing to worry about. Not all hunters pull up for that quick running shot...Many do though and I can assure you there is just one thing they have that split second focus on and it's not what is beyond that deer. Until you have pulled up in such a case to find the sliver of an orange hat just peeking over the back of the deer....... on private land , you know you are the only one that's suppose to be there, you haven't a clue. There is nothing to describe such a moment when your finger is on the trigger and some guys head pops up behind that deer. There is also apparently no getting people to "think about it" either. The only thing that saved that trespassers life was my personal OCD about a clean quick kill. For I hesitated as she stopped and looked at me. giving him time to take those last couple of steps to get in view directly behind her coming up the hill in the golden rod...tan coveralls with an orange cap..He never saw her or me and I was in full blaze coveralls. He could have just as well shot me...lay of the land...So no you'll never catch me shooting at a jumped deer...even on my place...because I understand what can happen. I understand about dips and knolls ,how sky lining a deer can happen ...I also know how someone in all blaze can be shot because he was behind a bush when his buddy jumped a deer and forgot about which direction the other drivers were....There was no laughing about it afterwards....... at the funeral.....
  14. 40' s and high winds...20 mph again. Good day to go on errands.
  15. Because it was pretty cut and dry as to what happened on the ground due to the # of corroborating witnesses. With the equipment the government's been pushing small town /county departments to buy, well I'll just leave alone the, "Tax payers bought it,why not use it? " question. It just looked less than photo investigation and more photo OP. to me.
  16. So we know what happened unnecessary tragic event for an entire family. Now will someone tell me why the sheriffs dept needed to use this of all events,to pull out one of their new toys. Let's see hunting group apparently not too far apart(assumption here) ,shooting within hunting party. What warrants them bringing out a drone to "survey " the scene? Please explain this to me.
  17. I actually think some states do have that law...but I haven't checked recently .
  18. Here is a great example of what everyone talks about...Mind you, the common guy can't do this(watch whole video to see why) but we can try if we want...Other wise enjoy the time we have and the deer we take....choices...... BTW they probably go through 500 pounds of trophy rock a year there plus deer corn feed supplements.... http://www.growingdeer.tv/#/deer-hunting-mission-accomplished-tagging-handy
  19. And it is a relatively short time frame....believe me I know...lol
  20. Lol...no up showered do wished off some multiprocessing and actually having lunch now because I've been up working since 4am...just know what the deer are doing here... Left that to show real Kindle. Typed...... No, up,showered and finished off some meat processing after having coffee. Did dishes, laundry...etc..etc..
  21. I googled because the friends, he was editor of this paper...and sure enough the article was on line...: http://geneseesun.com/female-hunter-killed-in-caledonia-shooting/ PS..Always check safety and always muzzle up high or at the ground...best high towards sky.
  22. googled that...pretty close to where those friends lived...kids went to school together...so sad.
