  1. So much bedding out in front of me..all the sorghum heads look like the backs of moving deer through the talk grass. I have one island of brush bedding and white pine I can't see much of,note, don't forget bino's again. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  2. Oh congrats on doe. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  3. The trees are certainly getting nicely bare. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  4. Hey that's about the right size too...hahaha Seriously though my construction has held up for 5 or 6 years now..besides...I can see the card board blind from here..that's like a giant kite compared to the one I'm in...hasn't flown away yet and it has a card board and rubber roof! 5. So...a tad worried about the new metal roof I put on the blind staying put....with the blind not being sunk...and how it's getting hit with these gusts...I keep bracing for a rough ride! Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  6. The deer are going to have to be very hungry to come out of cover in these winds/gusts .Doing a midafternoon hunt Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  7. Well I am still picking that stupid garden...even after the frosts..broccoli,Brussels and NOW my sweet peepers decide to bloom like crazy and set a whole bunch of baby peppers. Well, way under all the branches I found a lot of big ones to pick. The deer found the garden and have been eating corn off stalks. The pole and bush beans and some squash I left out there. ...anyways while out there I checked the turnip plot around goat barn. Remember me saying that "new" turnip was producing turnips near as big as my tea kettle...The deer ate that one ..so I picked the one near it that was not quite as big but about the size of most...here is the comparison: I think I'll be buying them again!
  8. Nice buck..... .looks like a great shot..congrats!
  9. ??? He obviously knew male ..thus saying spike...It could have been a 10 pt. with both antlers broken off.As long as the stubs were less than 3" ,still a legal doe...He was right think a doe from the size and at 40 yards to boot.
  10. LOL....on really cold hunts I have a camel pack I fill with hot tea,and wear under my layers...it cushions my back against the tree, keeps me warm inside and out as I sip on it....can't put tea in too hot ,but just warm enough.
  11. Great story and deer...have to say Biz is right that base looks too big to be a spike, though short enough to doe tag...looks like you could have an older than thought deer there. No wonder you thought a doe. Nice job.
  12. Gosh Rob...I'd assume your not a liar so..... you saw what you think you saw. I'll just not post in this thread...seeing pics with little description, is the same to me, as your thoughts of no picture with some description. The above was not meant to sound nasty ,though it sorta does, not intended.
  13. Nope, comes a time ppl need to take other ppls word for things..the whole "no pics, didn't happen" annoys me...just a tad.
  14. 4 horns...I've never seen these before...but I have to say...story..WOW what a persumptous inappropriate "welcome" gift...based just on what I read....I See a lollipop run...lol
  15. Mixed roasted veggies. Tossed with olive oil, basil and oregano. Eggplant, tomatoes celery, sweet green and orange bell and jalapino peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, onion, and garlic. Then chicken sauteed in seseme oil, and tossed into long grain/wild rice and a bit of soy sauce and paprika. Brownies for dessert
  16. You know some sadistic dentist thought that game up...hahaha
  17. PS...I predict a great night for some...we're headed in to a weather change...tonight will be good. The morning..even better.
  18. Ok ..one person got that..."are or aren't hunting...B S,not VS...and I have no idea way 30's showed up Now it won't been process edit corrections...
  19. OK THAT'S ENOUGH! MOVE IT ALONG NOW! This is for guys to let people know how and when they are or sometimes.30's aren't hunting...to share how and when and successes and even failures. NOT TO DEBATE PERSONAL SIZE PREFERNCES. let's just drop this yearly VS and move on. BTW.Sun's out, nice temps but huge mature trees are spinning like tooth picks in a blinde der
  20. Lol...Not a bad land manager for an old lady huh?
  21. I've never had a problem....
  22. I'm not actively calling anything right now...and they haven't been consistent on travels. Though knowing turkey and surrounding pressure I knew they would hit the secluded clover over the open fields on a weekend and in the high winds and rains...I had a gut feeling about that fence wire but cleared it in practice, That said...on farther out shots...I did not anticipate them coming in so fast and so close causing me to have to lower my aim...I was sitting at the far back of blind to avoid being seen..wire is well out of way now... ps.... ya that would have been exciting seeing him..I keep hearing these bucks grunt when I'm out , but was hoping a bit older...he'd have gotten a pass...I'm still in doe mode.
  23. So........... as I said the blind is behind the cam...first pic...look who walked by at ten yards just before I went to blind.... Next pic turkeys coming in fast right after I put fireball in my mouth and texted how dang hot it was...3rd pic is at the shot...one of those two in flight is what I shot at and believe hit fence wire ripping fletching off, sending arrow into twilight zone...4th ....This is what they did after the shot...milled about and slowly walked off...Oh well It was still fun and fencing ...FIXED!
