  1. Thanks for the info. I figured the deer was peeing but thought it just looked like the wrong consistency.
  2. Great looking buck, Good Luck with him!
  3. Is this a button buck ejaculating on it's tarsals or is it a doe peeing on it's tarsals...I just didn't think it looked like urine so thought it was a button buck maybe. My eyes aren't as good as they used to be so looking for other opinions. Deer Scenting Hocks.AVI
  4. Well, long story short, I skipped hunting on Sunday morning, 11/13/16, to go to a First Responder/Law Enforcement Appreciation Mass followed by a Brunch and when I checked my trail cam after my PM Hunt today, of course a 10 point bedded down 18 yards from my tree stand...he came in at about 10:50 AM and left at about 1:30 PM. He's actually a broken 10 point that was done recently so he's got 5 on one side and a broken main beam on the other side. Here are two videos of him bedding down and a video of him leaving. I actually have 8 videos of him dozing on and off laying there for about the hour and a half that he was there. 5. I like to be settled in the stand about an hr to an hr&half before legal sunrise ... today sunrise 6:59 and I was set up in stand by 5:30. Spook less deer walking in that early and I've had some if the big boys on trail cam 25 yds from my stand about 45 minutes before sunrise so I don't want to bump them walking in.
  6. Lunch live from the stand on another all day sit. One of the greatest places in the world to have lunch! So far 2 doe, a yearling, and 2 shooter bucks seen...hoping for some midday movement.
  7. Just rattled in this 4pt...came running in looking around...then crossed 20 yds in front of me through the thick stuff towards pond...rattled again and he came back down crossed in front of me and headed towards neighbors property north of me then a button buck came down from the pond area and joined him...pretty cool
  8. Interesting morning so far. About 8:00 had a pack of 3 coyotes come by...1 tan colored and 2 dark colored...lip squeaked one of them into about 25 yds. Then about 3 -5 minutes after they moved through a 4th one cruised by...dark colored...lip squeaked him into about 30 yds. No shots taken as it was prime time for deer. As for deer, so far have seen 2 bucks and a doe, all travelling alone. One of the bucks was a small basket racked 8 at about 25 yds, passed on him trying to wait for one of the big boys. Later had 4 gobblers scratching about 35 yds from me...they came by me at about 20 yds and were around me for the last 15 minutes scratching around until they got about 70 yds from me. Then had that last coyote sneak back and go after the gobblers behind me...almost got one of them too...They all flew up in the trees behind me and to the side of me. They flew back down about 15 minutes later and all has been quiet since.
  9. Papist Congrats...Awesome buck and tremendous recovery, great job!
  10. Between the temps and the peepers sounding off all morning the woods feel and sound more like spring turkey season than deer season, then to top it off, a gobbler has now gobbled twice in the last 5 minutes.
  11. Best of luck Papist, sounds like you got this one...looking forward to the pics
  12. Think it's going to be a good day today, lots of reported buck movement yesterday and today I've already had a buck walking by my stand in the dark grunting. Good luck all.
  13. So at about 1055 I just lowered my bow and unhooked from safety rope...I hear something, look towards the sound, and see this little 6 pt walking through. He ends up going by me at 20 yds and hangs out for a few minutes in front of me...close enough where I could hear him peeing on the leaves. Man I'm glad he wasn't one of the shooters.
  14. Finally no wind...some deer came by before light, couldn't see them but could hear them moving through. Then later passed on this 3pt came in practically right under my stand

  16. Thanks for the input guys. Wow, I underestimated him then, I've got to get better at aging them on the hoof. Chas, coincidentally I'm in 8F as well.
  17. Great story about the camp and doe. Akso, so sorry for the loss of your Mother-In-Law. Prayers for the family and good luck with the new camp!
  18. This was off my last Trail Cam card pull. How old do you think this buck is? I was guessing 2.5 because he didn't have much of a belly sag. EK000004.avi
  19. Beautiful morning in 8F. Saw a doe with a yearling and a small 3pt this morning at about 7:25. Nothing since. Congrats on the opening day harvests and the yote!
  20. Nice to see the first pics of the year with them out of velvet!
