  1. Wow, AWESOME buck and great job on that mount! He looks amazing!
  2. Wow, That looks really cool!
  3. Wooly, It's a Sony CyberShot DSC-HX400V. I'm currently using the lens that came with the camera but am looking to upgrade to a true telephoto zoom lens and I need to get a tripod for steadier shots. Attached are a few other shots that I've gotten on other hikes during the last year trying to get used to the camera. I have to get better at crisper pictures and pictures with motion.
  4. Started getting into photography last year but got a long way to go to get near Wooly's skills! Anyways, went hiking for some sheds this past weekend. Figured it was kind of early for it, but any chance to get out is nice. Ended up seeing two bucks both with their antlers still and walked into a small flock of gobblers. Plus seen some does and a flock of hens.
  5. Wow, Cool video. She'll be dropping some late born fawns.
  6. Received my book in the mail too. Thank you for the generosity! Looking forward to reading it.
  7. I'm interested in Hunting Mature Bucks by Larry Weishuhn if its still available!
  8. I keep my sling on when hunting from tree stand and take it off when hunting sitting on the ground.
  9. Well was planning to get in treestand today by 12 after work because yesterday I was in by 1230 and had 4 doe come by at about 1:15. Got delayed at work and didn't get in tree until about 1:05 but noticed quite a bit of fresh tracks from earlier in the day that weren't there yesterday. I pulled trail cam and this guy came by at 12:52...His tracks go by the tree at about 35 yds Missed him by about 15 minutes. Would have been a chip shot for the muzzleloader if I didn't get delayed at work...Uuugh.
  10. Short work shift this morning, now on stand from noon till quitting time. A few tracks on the way in so hopefully one of them bucks I've been waiting for show up.
  11. Passed on one small buck at 40 yds, the 4pt I've passed on a number of times throughout the season. He came by right at about quitting time but he would have gotten a pass anyways. Only deer seen this afternoon.
  12. Winter wonderland today for a couple hours after work today nestled on the ground with my Muzzleloader up against the edge of some pines where they meet the woods. Had some fresh tracks in snow in front of the pines and passed on a nice mature doe at 40 yds Wednesday afternoon here, hoping a buck was following. She may not get a pass today.
  13. BM, so sorry for your loss, you and your family will be in my prayers and thoughts. Your dad sounds like a great man and from your posts it is evident that his outstanding passion, attitude, and character has molded you into the man you are today. Cherish all the memories as it sounds like there have been many great ones over the years. God bless.
  14. An engraved Buck110 that I received as a gift when I graduated from the Police Academy in 1993; engraved with my name and year of the graduation. It has been on my side every hunt since receiving it. Over the years that knife has been used to field dress countless deer, turkey, and small game.
  15. Wish it was scent control, just wind in my favor. LOL
  16. Well no shooter bucks yet but have seen deer, a doe at about 7:45 and two doe at 12:15. Doing an all day sit hoping for a shooter buck. But this is pretty cool have a fox sleeping at the base of a tree about 49 yds from me; been there for almost an hour so far. Here's a pic of him.
  17. Gotta love it ... Hot chocolate on stand, no wind finally, turkey talk from roost before flying down and now hammering away on the ground, a doe has already cruised by...just need a shooter buck to present a shot during daylight
  18. You read my mind, as the deer walked up to the pines I did two soft grunts. Hopefully it keeps that deer close until daylight but another deer just walked in from behind me after I grunted. Hopefully they stick around until daylight. That first one was so close, about 15 yds I could hear it peeing, so there's some freshly laid natursl scent too ... LOL
  19. Well might be out of luck, deer just walked by in the dark again like yesterday, hopefully it wasn't the bucks ftom yesterday already
  20. So yesterday in stand super early not to bump any and a deer walks by about 20 yds away in the dark. Still too dark to see what it was as I could only make out the outline of its body...well it ends up walking in front of my trail cam so after doing an all day sit and seeing nothing else...all day, I check the cam. It was actually 2 bucks walking together, a medium sized buck and I think that 4pt I keep passing on. So back on stand super early again today for another all day sit...hopefully that medium sized buck will be a little later today and walk by during legal shooting light. Also had the 7Pt I've been after on cam from the night before ... came by about 40 minutes after shooting time. Good luck everybody!
  21. I know the feeling, I skipped Sunday morning hunt the last Sunday of bow season for a law enforcement appreciation mass& brunch. When I hunted Monday afternoon and pulled the trail cam card I've got video of a 10 pt buck that walked in and bedded down 18 yds from my tree stand. He was there for 2.5 hrs ... from 10:50 - 1:30. Well he was a 10 pt as late as 11/6 on trail cam but by 11/13 when he bedded by my tree stand he was in a fight and one whole side of his rack was broken off ... so technically a 5 by then. I've got the video posted in trail cam threads.
  22. Pulled some trail cam cards today. Here's video of a small buck trailing a doe and grunting, pretty cool to hear. I've passed this guy up about 6 times during bow and twice during gun so far. Buck Trailing Doe Grunting 11240024.AVI
  23. Yes...there was actually 3 of them together on the videos
