  11. Wow, CF, That boy sure likes to gobble up on the roost! Good Luck with him and good luck to all the youth hunters this weekend...Hunt safe and have fun!
  12. That is a SWEET looking mount - a good sized melon on that bruin too; the mount that is...LOL!
  13. I use two hen decoys. I try to position the hens to face away from the direction I'm expecting the gobbler to come from to give the appearance that they're not super interested in him and he's going to have to come to them if he wants any action ... with one hen facing directly away and one hen facing kind of perpendicular to the first about 3 - 5 yards apart from each other...(Kind of like one facing 12:00 and one facing 3:00 this way an approaching gobbler gets a full view of at least one decoy body) Don't know if this is best but it's what I use and seems to work for me. As far as the jake decoy, never used one but I have heard that it should be facing the direction that you expect the gobbler to come from because he will eventually face the decoy to confront it turning his back to the hunter for any final gun adjustments if needed or to draw a bow. Good Luck!
  14. JALA Rut..........My initials followed by my wife's initials and then my favorite time to be in the deer woods...although my wife states that I'm trying to indicate something else with our names ... You get the idea. I assured her that I'm not as I belong on a turkey hunting forum with the name JALA Strut, but she still thinks otherwise... LOL
