    I’ve have not hunted much state land, mainly 3 rivers if I do since it is right around the corner from me, but the gates are closed year round. There is no driving “into” the state land. Pull off the main road into the parking area and that is it. I don’t think motorized vehicles should have access to state land. Close the gates and leave them closed year round. That way the roads that are there don’t get torn up

    If the roads are that bad they should just barricade them and close them off to all vehicles year round. 4 wheelers & UTV’s shouldn’t be on state land anyways I thought?? I know you can’t use them at Three Rivers Wildlife area

    Or the days of having two people for one permit. Who remembers those days. I was just talking with my cousin last night about we used to drive down the road at camp and you could look up the hill as you drove and all you saw were guys in orange. 20 + cars parked on top of the hill. That is not the case anymore. Hasn’t been like that down at camp in over 15 years

    How long of a gun season would be acceptable to a lot of people?? My brother in law works for a company that automatically grants you 4 weeks vacation when you walk in the door. But everyone is taking their vacation the last 2 weeks of July and the first 2 weeks of August. No exceptions. And he works 6 days a week most weeks. Not everyone had the ability to burn days or gets weekends off

    At this point there isn’t much we can do except try to do our best to stay healthy. I think everyone is going to get this at some point. You seem to have a lot going on which makes it tougher. Getting everyone healthy is the most important thing. After that everything will fall into place. Any there is nothing wrong with quarantining in the woods. Have a great Christmas and a happy New Year!!

    Isn’t it cool how you can sit there sometimes and get all kinds of pics and videos of them but when you want to shoot they “know” you are there or something isn’t right and they are on edge. Makes for a great sit when you get to watch them like that

    Hope you feel better. My son was sent home from college a couple weeks ago after testing positive for Covid. Has tested negative the last couple of days along with the rest of the family. Hope you can at least have a good Holiday with whoever you are with, doing whatever you are going to do.

    Yes flying into LAX. That whole city is crazy busy. It is a nice place to visit but I would not want to live there!!!

    Heading to Los Angeles tomorrow with the family. Staying with my brother and his family. A little side trip to Vegas on the 26th to watch the Raiders - Broncos game and the Vegas Knights - Colorado Avalanche game on the 27th. Back to LA on the morning of the 28th and then a red eye flight late that night. Be back for a few more days in the woods at the end of the month. Just wishing it was going to be warmer than it is going to be. Not even sure I’m bringing a pair of shorts. Isn’t LA supposed to be warm?? Lol

    Tonneau cover also if you aren’t going to put a cap on it. Nice to have hunting stuff in the back and not have to worry about it getting wet or snowed on

    I have a 2016 Ram with a spray in bed liner. First I have had. All my other trucks had the heavy plastic bed liners in them from Mopar. After having the spray in bed liner in this truck I will never have anything else for a bed liner

    I found 2 deer on the side of the road out at Three Rivers Wildlife area a few years back. Both had been shot, Both had the back straps removed and one was missing the head. Called the DEC. They were there within minutes since the 2 officers at been at one there buildings around the corner. They didn’t want to do anything besides take my info and search my vehicle. Said there wasn’t much they could do but they will be on the lookout in the future. Hopefully if he calls the DEC he gets a better response than I did.

    I was down at camp Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday. Region 8. Did not another vehicle parked on the side of the road anywhere near where I hunt Saturday or Sunday. Heard 6 shots Sunday. Nothing near me. All from the other side of the lake. But I did deer. Not sure where all the hunters are. I’ll be back down for the weekend Friday morning.

    Hate putting up x-mas lights. I’d rather get my teeth pulled than put them up. Not sure why my wife insists I do it every year. She gets pissed listening to me bitch about it. One of these years maybe she will say don’t bother. Lol
