The guy i work with that leaves work at 3 PM the first week of gun season and shoots the first 2 deer that walk into the field ,he's home and cleaned up by 5 guaranteed.

So ,with all the chit chat about people finding their neighbors and other people squatting in your stand while you are away , got me thinking . Its just a basic 4 sided pyramid made from plywood , with no bottom , mounted on the bottom side is a piece of flat stock that is long enough to protrude through the bottom of the stand ,then a hole drilled through with just enough room to get a pad lock through the flat stock on the bottom side of the tree stand .Good luck standing on that . Ive attached this extremely high quality drawing that trys to show what the heck im talking about .

This is what I picture the dominant buck looking like in people terms.

Just 2 guys messin around .

Gander mtn has one on sale, the platform is 20 x30, it looks like the biggest platform they have and its like 70 bucks, I looked at the more expensive ones and the quality is the same as the cheap ones .

Its like when you get that chicken wing with the extra chunk of meat on it.

I hunted 9H this afternoon . I went back to the truck at 2 to grab some more clothes and saw a nice buck across the street just feeding in the field , walking WITH the wind, Then kicked out a doe and didn't see anything while actually hunting.
-
So thats what an active scrape looks like , the ones we see are usually a one and done , we tried everything to keep them going and they just get covered with leaves and thats it.
-
If i am going to a spot to mess around during the season , ill talk talk out loud and sing and just let the deer know im coming, they've heard people from farms and camps talking with zero harm done to them , it seems like when you start sneaking around that they get spooked and get shy.
-
I would hunt someone elses stand if i came across it . Im sure i wouldn't ruin someones "spot" . I would probably leave a note with the date and what i saw .

It looks like the age old grainy 8mm bigfoot pic .

Walls inside the house are for the trophys , walls inside the garage are for road kill and shed antlers.
-
Tried it at 5 deer last weekend and none of them even flinched .
-
What if my dog finds the shed and carries it back to the truck ? Take that NYS

I saw some street meat today after work ,just a small spike though.

Uneducated adult hunters are just uneducated young hunters all grown up . At first i was against the youth hunt , now i realize what a great opportunity it is to get kids up to speed and hopefully get them hooked and they become educated sportsman who will respect nature as well as respect other hunters . I still think people need to bow hunt before a gun though, to much pray and spray going on , i wonder how many people even realize how close a deer will get to you if you don't start spraying away as soon as it gets within a hundred yards.

Im leaning towards the Assassin , i know it comes loaded but the plan is to beef up the sight and add a whisker biscuit .That is, if i choose to get the Assassin . I may wait til after we're done paying for our wedding and take a look at the next step up , which would take me back to square one .

Im on the last season of my current bow (Alpine Teton Lite) ive had it for about 18 years . Ive been doing research on various components and a question i have is , When it comes to choosing a sight ,I have seen some sights that stick off the riser about 4 inches or so , and some that stick out far enough just to clear the riser , Is the distance from the eye to the sight pin a personal preference or is there a benefit to a longer or shorter eye to sight pin distance . I hope my question is clear enough to know what im asking . Thanks in advance !

That answers my question , he said to never let the logger decide which trees go or stay.
-
My buddy has to have his property logged soon , he was saying to not let the loggers pick which trees go . Is this true? He said you need to have somebody come in first and mark the trees that will be beneficial to be removed for the property ,not the loggers take. Have you guys come across the same info ?

I have seen more deer this year than any other past year ,2 weeks in to the season. Last saturday ,all i saw was bucks ,no does ,just 6 bucks.

I clicked the "like" button for your comment to call it even.

My fiance's little bro took a good sized doe out of Allegheny yesterday . I dont think anybody belongs in the woods with a gun until they have completed at least 2 years of archery first , young or old .

Hopefully its a better deal then the guy that wants 1100 for a bone stock Bowtech Assassin on CL, that has been fired.
-
Unfortunately, he looks old enough to only come out and play at night . hopefully some stinky does will convince him otherwise for you.
