I was at the store shopping last night and realized that people who leave their carts in the parking lot drive me nuts !

I'll admit that I wouldn't be able to pull the trigger on a doe that had a young one following along unless we were starving.

I talked to the guy with the tractor and implements today who also hunts with me, I relayed the info so far and he psyched also to do some work.

Basically the area i want to plant is the outside edge of a large thorn field (about 3 acres) right before it meets up with a thin piece of woods , on the other side of the thin piece of woods will be a corn field , the farmer is putting in corn next year about 100 yards away from this thorn field , my thought was , they sleep in the thorns (and they do already). I figured a small plot would give them a place to mill around and allow me to get a shot before they make it into the corn field to feed after bedding.

Hey people , before next season , we want to put in a small plot (hopefully a staging area). The area in question is overgrown with them damn thorn bushes (not sure what they are really called) , you know the ones , the kind that swallow you up if you even consider trying to walk through them . We have a tractor with a tow behind brush hog , is there a permanent way to knock these bad boys down and keep them down ? I would also be interested to hear if its possible to plant different kinds of crops that will come in before hunting season and some that will come in during late season as well. I hope i explained it all properly. Thanks !

I guess its up to them , i dont trust other people that much so i wear it . Im not really sure why some people choose to not wear . I know it always seems to start an argument though.

You are in luck , right now for the holidays if you buy a basic meat package from me ill kill and mount a snow owl for you to decorate the xmas tree with.

One thing i can add that i have witnessed many times in the woods and i always do when walking , if you step on a branch and it snaps then don't keep walking , every deer i have ever witness break a branch always stops and stands motionless for what seems to be over a minute.

I don't disagree with your statement , i will admit that a lot of this stuff still confuses me . With that said , i'm not understanding how the activity will occur the same time every year if the weather is different from year to year , deer don't use calenders .

Ya that's a common misconception about loud sleds being fast.

I never understood the loud pipes on a TRAIL sled,they must be trying to make up for something.

The last 2 bucks I hit with smooth bore sluggers got knocked off their front legs, one got up and ran about 30 yards but the woods looked like a murder scene .Neither time did the round pass through, I can't imagine needing anything more effective than that.

I finally clicked this thread and read through 4 pages and realized that the only people who are happy at this club have 1 or 2 posts total , weird.

Certainly quieter than normal in both the areas i hunt and not that its official info but the processor said his numbers are down compared to last year .

Ill play along , i just went out to put snow tires on the truck and ill be dipped if the idiot stupid SOB mechanic that mounted the tires on the truck did'nt use his mac or snap on or what ever over priced piece of crap impact gun to put the lug nuts on so tight that i had to stand on a 24 inch breaker bar to loosen them , ASE Certified my A@#.
