  1. I'll be dipped!! Here is the original Remington 700 KS LH .280 from the mid-late 80's, just prior to the ones I had. Mine had a flat black bolt and matte black finish on the barrel & action, this one has a jeweled bolt and gloss finish on the metal. It's a fair starting price, it'll be interesting to see where it goes. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/863775130
  2. Funny, like Pygmy mentioned above, I regret NOT buying a few. An old cogger I got to be friendly with had a bunch of guns and I did buy two; A 12ga Winchester Model 21 and an Ithaca 20ga sxs. I don't recall much about the grade on the Ithaca but it was engraved and had a beautiful beaver tail forend. I spent about 500 clams to have it fluffed and buffed by an old Ithaca Gun Company 'smith, A.R Hammond. It was a beauty, I kept it for ten years or so hunting pheasants and such before I traded it for......yea, I don't recall. The Model 21 was a 3 digit serial number gun in 85% I'd guess. I gave that to dad and he used it for duck & goose (with bismouth shot) and pheasant. He sold that a number of years ago too. What I regret though, is the REST of the guns the guy had. I didn't look that close but (don't be pissed at me) he did have a very nice Winchester 94 and an old S&W revolver among other pieces. The revolver hung in a holster on a gun belt from a door knob in his pantry. The 94 was behind another door...... The man's name was Bill Coarse, deceased probably 20 years at least now. He wanted me to buy more but I blew my wad on the two doubles and like Dan above, I was young and had a wife and one child. Oh well, absolutely no problem. I've scored lots of other good gun deals, more than I deserve.
  3. Jeez, you make it out as some religious or love thing? It's just an object, it can't (except for my old .280) love you back.
  4. They seem too low on his chest, but it sure looks possible and F-ing weird. Tiger King-ish????
  5. I've sold plenty of guns; ML's, shotguns, rifles and handguns. Few are regrettable but one rifle, a left handed Remington 700KS .280 I wish I kept, sort of. I loved that gun and it loved me back.....the really ironic thing is I bought my first in 1993 then sold it maybe in 2010 or so to fund a different gun. THEN, a couple years later an internet buddy from Missouri asked if I wanted to buy the exact same .280 KS that he had so I did. I only kept that one for a year or two when an opportunity came up for another LH NULA rifle, this one in .243 Winchester. I peddled that .280 KS to help fund the NULA. Other than that, I can't come up with any others off the top of my shiny head.
  6. I have a 2008.....(yes, 2008) red top Optima in my boat that I use for starting, lighting and fish finder. It came with the boat and I maintain and store it in my basement each winter. I'm not too worried about it crapping in the hay while on the water as my motor is only a 25hp Mercury and I can still yank it. (the motor) My trolling motor is a deep cycle Interstate about 4-5 years old......
  7. Jeremy’s recommendation of the Dawn and water is a winner. Diff worked good but the fumes were rough. White vinegar and water worked fine too but the Dawn mixture was the best.

  13. I started it Sunday night and binge watched the last four segments yesterday. (Before I go on, let me say that in my 58 years, I've NEVER watched that much TV in a day in my life!) Those people are some crazy assed folks; makes my life look exceptionally boring. It really is a "must watch" show.
  14. FUGG YES! My arthritis is going to be screaming tomorrow. My hands are chicken chow mein after scraping that stuff today, I think I need tomorrow off?
  15. I'm expecting the Wayfair order any day now........excitedly.
  16. Well Tommy today it finally happened, the wallpaper is coming off! I know this has been a topic of conversation between you & I over the years but late this afternoon the beginning of the end of my much abhorred kitchen wallpaper started, The wife and I jumped in and as may know, the hardest part is getting started. We did and we both feel great about it as should you Tommy. I'll add pics as things progress but there won't be a big rush as there IS no big rush..........I have time on my hands. The outer layer of paper off...... Hard to see but behind the fridge is where I started, the paper and backing is off and looks pretty good, so far. The "white" area to the left of the door jamb is ready for primer I think. The are in "brown" is the paper backing, ready for scoring and the soaking with the douche solution in the upcoming days. Stay tuned!!! Happy Birthday Bizzy!! LOL
  17. What a morning I had. As I was getting ready to head to the local hardware store to pick up a specialty light bulb for a kitchen ceiling light and mail a package (late, sorry Tony) to a forum member I got a text message. It was from a very good friend's younger brother, wondering if I knew of anyplace that sold venison and if not, would I sell him some. Seems his teenage old son had a hankering for venison burgers for his birthday this Thursday. Well I told him that no, I didn't know of anywhere that sold it but I was heading out and would swing by with a couple packages, gratis of course. Well I grabbed two packs of ground and a package of Costanzo's Reuben sausage too and fired up the Toyota. On the way to the hardware store I called a friend that I talk to each day, just to see how things were going for him. He manages some commercial property in the area and we chatted about all the issues going down. Just out of the blue I said "hey, we have no hand sanitizer at home or in our vehicles, do you have any?" He said swing by......... I snagged a couple of handy little bottles for us to keep in the vehicles (we can wash our hands in the house) and a pair of N95 masks. We were not as prepared for this as I guess we should have been. Woulda a thunk it? THEN, after dropping off the meat, picking up the PPE and then the hardware store, I was heading home and I noticed this guy walking down the main drag that looked familiar. I swung around and pulled into a driveway and asked him (2012TacoTim) if he needed a lift home. Seemed he just dropped his truck of at the local garage for some repairs and was hoofing it home. Against both our better judgement, he jumped in the passenger seat and I took him home. I pulled up in front of his house (so his wife wouldn't see us sharing a cab) and he said "hey, do you like Jack Daniels?"...........does Howdy Doody have wooden balls, HELL YES I like JD!! So he ran in and grabbed a bottle he recently won at a NWTF shindig and handed it to me, THANK YOU TIM!!!!! What a day, could it get any better?
  18. Happy Birthday Tommy!!! I haven’t read the posts above but I’m sure (and hoping) that there's plenty of ball busting!! Seriously though, I hope you have a great day!!
  19. Then there's the pensions that got raped by their management.......SNAKE EYES!!!!!
  20. In this day & age, lump sum is going to be tough to make work. Low interest rates will have you going backwards PDQ.........Years ago, lump sum could certainly work (and I know a few that took it) for people but the "sure thing" of a monthly pension check from .gov is a no-brainer for most today, depending on the size of the lump.
