  1. It's been a great gun, I don't recall ever having it bobble. If my memory serves me, I got it in 1999 but painted it 4-5 years ago. I killed plenty of waterfowl and turkey with it in it's stock form but a few gobblers bugged out one year and I didn't know why so decided to rattle can it. Added the red dot a few years ago too...... I might have a picture or two to share, let me check.
  2. This state will be in such bad shape when this is over (?) that they better keep the toll money coming in.......they'll be going up too. Send it!
  3. The amount of “unknowns” being dealt with are the worry.
  4. The good thing is they don’t gobble, strut, have a full fan, big spurs, a blue head or a penis.
  5. In my opinion, patterns can be much to tight. Your super tight shot pattern at 40 yards sucks at 20 yards, easily shooting over or beside a gobbler. You don’t need 50 pellets in the cranium.....
  6. Super Black Eagle, sans the sling (not real heavy) and three shells. What’s your 20ga weigh?
  7. Thanks guys! Before we left Springville I called Adam's Rib in Snyder and placed an order for her birthday dinner. Eating a "special" meal at home rather in the relaxing atmosphere of a restaurant is disappointing. The only plus was I wasn't too tipsy to drive to the assisted living facility to drop off the new toaster to the FIL. The birthday girl.......
  8. I opted to thank you for the "Keeping your FIL in prayer"...........I wanted to put a for your "Law did you lose some lbs?" Actually I found some lbs............ :(
  9. Another member here posted that he was at Allegheny State Park yesterday as my wife and I were too. We ended up taking a big loop down the Thruway to Chautauqua Lake the crossed the lake on Rt 86 and headed east towards the ASP. The plan (really flexible though) was to hit the 219 in Salamanca then stop at Walmart in Springville to pick up a toaster for my Covid positive father in law's room at the assisted living facility. It was my wife's birthday and we felt like hitting the road........ So back to the park; I've only been to ASP a handful of times over the years. In high school, myself and a bunch of guys rented a cabin for a few drunkin' nights and a zillion laughs. Then I remember a weekend camping trip with the father's and sons of the kids scout troop. This was strictly a non-sanctioned scouting event as alcohol and cigars were present. This was a winter camping trip and the kids had a ball too....... (While we were there, the Space Shuttle Columbia Disaster occurred that Saturday night, something to taint the weekend and history) So yesterday we went in the Quaker Entrance and ended up on the road to Thunder Rocks. The roads were fine but they must have had 5-6" of snow the night before so were sloppy. I'm sure many here have been there but if not, it is surely worth a ride. While we were in the park for probably two hours we probably only saw a fraction of the Park We'll be returning again soon I hope for a weekend trip. Take your kids you guys!!!!!!!
  10. Three launches I saw today on Chautauqua Lake were wide open Only one boat was on the lake that I could see......chilly and windy.
  11. Yesterday afternoon we got the call we were hoping to not get; the Assisted Living facility my father in law is at said that yes, he as positive for Covid 19 He has no symptoms but will be quarantined for 14 days and monitored multiple times each day. My wife and I can’t stand the masks either but have no problem wearing them in stores or where necessary. You’d have to be a fool to not wear one....
  12. I was in that Springville Walmart today and left at 6:10pm I can vouch for your statement, most were but not all. I also was happily surprised.
  13. 1:24 into a ten minute video and the guy is too obnoxious for me.....YMMV
  14. Yes, great thread Dan........I don't have many pics from woodchuck hunts but did find this one, maybe 10 years ago?? Hunting woodchucks in the summer is a great part of life. I had some great years back in the late 80's but the fields and times have changed. (NOT prone)
  15. Like dove hunting, woodchuck hunting is a BLAST when you have the right field at the right time. Fun Fact (?) I've never shot a single critter prone. I have shot a load though........
  16. Is there a name for that body of water? Hull Bay could work?
  17. We slaughtered 'em.........anyone have a good recipe for cardboard gobbler?
  18. So many economic hits coming that the common man/no hunter would never think of. Disastrous is too nice a word for it......
  19. Nice set up Al. Very organized!!!!
