I know the to each his own but in my case, if it was free it'd still be on the counter. No biggie, just zero interest.

Two pics, see if they are orientated correctly via the phony phone..... Looks like they'll show up correct. Two of the blades are bent pretty good, must have hit something purty hard in the deer (neck????) or started out that way although I hope the hell not!! The OD of the shaft is .348" Does that sound like a xbow shaft diameter or just a standard carbon shaft from a vertical bow??????

I couldn't imagine the terror of finding a broadhead, buried in the flesh of some deer I was butchering. Damn sure I'd find the thing with my off hand while grabbing at hide/meat etc. Boy that'd PMO.......................... OK, NOW I'll go snap a picture of that broadhead I mentioned earlier, stay tuned.

Binoculars vs monocular. For hunting.
Lawdwaz replied to zeus1gdsm's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
Forget about the mono idea for hunting, if you're serious. If a lightweight highly rated (by guys that do have a clue) pair of binos is what you're seeking, take a look at the Leupold Yosemite 6x glass. Price is very reasonable and they have held up well for users. https://www.amazon.com/Leupold-Yosemite-Porro-Prism-Binoculars/dp/B00DZES96A I've never used them although I had a pair on back order a few years ago that never showed from a Ebay vendor. It wasn't a big deal as I have other binos and was just curious enough about the 6x Yosemite's that I thought I'd snag some. -
Happy Birthday John.......I see you haven't been here since 12/1/2016 (unless you're visiting UC) and we miss you, I hope all is well. Enjoy your evening sir!

Dad's buck had a broadhead in the neck. An inch or so of shaft was still attached the the shaft...... I'll try and get a picture tomorrow night.

The 2.5-8 Leupold (varix III, VariX3 etc) is what sits on my muzzleloader and at least 4 of my rifles. Dad's Kimber has one also......... I was tending to use the 3.5x10 but have since flipped them all for the 2.5-8. Easy choice IMO.

If she punched me in the nose I wouldn't have known her. Regardless, RIP Ms. Fisher.

That's a fair poke for most guys with a gun.....

Nice.......I always try and come up with score on an animal just for practice then find out how close I was.

That is a great looking deer moog. The taxidermy looks great too.......... Did you green score him and/or has it been 60 days? I don't recall the date of the kill??

Pics were shot with my phone via a hasty setup with a superb spotting scope on a $12 tripod..........piece of crappola thing that it is.

Was at my buddies in Canadice today and another eagle dropped in.......he landed on the frozen surface of the pond. During the summer, my friend has a fountain running. We take the fountain out in the fall and attach a plastic duck decoy to the anchor line that keeps the float centered. In the spring the deke comes out and the fountain goes back in. Well maybe not this spring as the eagle proceeded to peck and scratch at the frozen decoy for 15 minutes. I'd bet it sinks when the pond thaws!!

Matty Boy..................Happiest of Birthdays to you! What's on the menu for today as far as recreation AND food??
-
All the best to you and the Mrs. PM for my addy......just don't have the reception in May, October, November or early December and I'm there!!
-
They are very smart birds. How many road killed crows have you ever seen??
-
I think Pygmy has lots of experience with crow hunting. Another buddy (age 79) as a kid had a pet owl. You can't imagine the crows they killed via THAT decoy.
-
Is it that loud?
-
Oh a mouth call is excellent.....no need for a electronic but they give a big advantage. I love my wooden Faulks calls, they fool crows and gooblers..... Just stay hidden; pick a hedge row and NOT the center of a woods. DEcoys are good, crow and owl type.
-
You have to kill the sentry.......then the rest will come. If it's wounded and flopping around all the better. You don't need a ground blind.....you won't be there long enough to justify. Shoot a bunch then move to a different area. Electronic callers are deadly.

Merry Christmas! An hour ain't so good really? I'm usually out for 1.5 hours, +/- a few minutes. Years ago I had something similar but IIRC it had to be boiled to be recharged?? That got tossed to the curb as soon as they came out with the disposable charcoal hand warmers, those babies can't be beat. Reading comprehension isn't my strong suit........that said, I see now that that one you posted has to be boiled too? Re-gift it...................
