  1. Dad? 77 The buck? Not sure yet......I've got the lower jaw cleaned and ready for aging. It COULD be a 4.5 year old but I'll leave that up to the folks at the DEC. It may be sometime in January before I get that answer though. I boiled/cleaned the skull earlier this week as I'm trying to attach the horns back on the skull for a faux European mount. It'll be a bit of a job to get things "bolted" up I think.
  2. I don't know that that's the bullet I'd want to be using. Some form of expansion would be what I'd be looking for.......
  3. OK, great......I'll try a bear video that'll rock your world. BASTARD!!.AVI
  4. (apologies again for not being a ML'r slug but I love this bullet!) Here is a Barnes TTSX from my .243, used to kill a doe in PA at 235 yards. I've posted this bullet before but snapped some new ones anyway.....(oh, it retained 100% of it's weight. It was a head on shot and the bullet lodged in a hindquarter ham)
  5. Round ball from a PA doe 20+ years ago that went stem to stern....... I think this one is a Barnes from a 12ga......(sorry it isn't a ML'r)
  6. I'll try another video of the same buck...... NICE_Buck.AVI
  7. Did it work? If so, I'll hang the bear video.
  8. Here's the buck Dad killed that shed his horns when he died.......(this is an attempt at uploading a video via my new Fios service so bear with me) Big 10.AVI
  9. Bohning used to make a product for preparing aluminum and carbon shafts for fletching. It was worked great when I used it...... Sounds like its time to invest in a fletching jig and start doing it yourself.
  10. I had to get a new Phone a couple days ago. I had a Tech21 on my old phone and liked it enough. I've looked around at a couple Verizon stores and their stock isn't good. Is there any recommendations you guys have for a new case? I'd rather it isn't a big boxy thing. Thoughts?
  11. I'll try and snap a couple pics tomorrow morning.......I have a couple neat ones.
  12. For what it's worth..... One thing I used to struggle with is follow through.....it is very important that you must follow through with your shot; no peeking/dropping your bow arm etc. I seemed to have moved past this issue about 15 or 16 years ago when I went back to a compound after about 12 years with traditional gear.
  13. I thought I saw a wink and the slightest of slight smiles but can't know for sure, it could have been directed at the Stockmohr salesman on the other side of the gas pump............
  14. I got nothing for that........
  15. I poked around with a stick quite a bit and could not find any evidence of any type of trauma. I watch a fair amount of CSI, Dateline, 20/20 etc to feel pretty confident in my skills, for what it's worth.
  16. I can't say that thought DIDN'T enter my mind. Oh yea.......I think I saw your wife at Kenyon's this morning around 10am??

    Bucks!

There's a heck of a trophy buck bedded just to the right of the tree in picture number 3..........he HAS to be in area 3S.
  18. Sounds like a great guy is in need to of good thoughts and well wishes.....I'm in.
  19. I couldn't really smell much but didn't stick my nose too close........as far as a term/name, I know nothing. The green stuff was matted, clumpy, frozen and ugly as hell.
  20. As I've already posted on the Harvest Thread in Muzzle Loader sub-forum, I killed a buck on Saturday. He is actually an 8 point buck but had a monkeyed up rack. As mentioned in that thread, I ended up donating the buck via The Buck & Doe Shop locally. It really bothered me as 98% of the animals I kill I use, once in a while I'll give one to a friend who might need one. What bothered me mostly was the fact that if it wasn't good enough for me, why should it be OK for someone else to use? The butcher shop said they'd look it over and make that call after skinning it and yes, it was ok for donating. I know that if anyone in the family ever got a hint of a stomach ache or the Hershey squirts after consuming it I'd always have doubts....... I don't know if these pics are better than the others but here you go........(hope you already ate supper) I didn't take any of my usually posed/timed hero shots as I was wringing my hands on what to do with him. At that point I felt like I only outsmarted a sick deer and didn't feel as though I earned it. Strange feeling, maybe I'm thinking too deeply about it?? What would you guys/gals have done?
  21. The 55 yo in me didn't get it right away.......................I do now!!
  22. Good thing none of you took me up on the bet.......it's working fine and the install went without a hitch. Stay tuned..........
  23. I'll happily take a tree for that job and it doesn't have to be anything but the slightest sapling to do the job.
  24. I remove it 99% of the time when deer hunting or spring gobbler hunting. I'd love to rid my slings of the newer "Uncle Mikes" swivels that have the thread on/off barrels........gimme my old ones back, PLEASE.
