Easy there Mopar Mad Man............................. My 2002 Chevy Silverado was a window motor eater too. I replaced 4 IIRC. Front wheel hubs? You wouldn't believe it. Brakes? How about three times for front and rear, pads & rotors. One the dealer paid for and two out of my pocket. 125K on it IIRC when I traded it on the Tacoma.

Not me. I lugged a few over the years but figured I ALWAYs want to be a little closer and didn't want to sneak even closer to stick a deke in the ground the retreat backwards. In a field situation I guess you'd have to but once again, you don't want to get busted out in the open so you have to be careful. If your are set up on an edge of a field and it is dark, then have at it. Only thing about that is you can't move as freely as you'd like because you don't want to leave the deke in the field if you aren't hunting right by it because that is when the gobbler will show up and if you try and sneak out to grab it he might see you. Clear as mud?

You're probably right, he IS the greatest. Slam dunk at 237? Heck its a World Record One of the best shots in the world? He is now...................... I wonder if the Guinness Book of World Records excepts Youtube video?

I've had a Model 37 for many years and recently got a 642-1. Both are great guns; the 37 is for the ankle and the 642 is for the front pocket. They're NOT for sale.............................

What a joke. I wonder how many days he tried that shot before he hit it? One, two maybe three? Nahh, he just went out and plunked one in there and damned if he didn't bust the balloon. Keep hammering..............keep sucking. Keep trying Biz.

I bet it was but that has nothing to do with this thread. The OP question relates to a very different situation that these vehicles are not designed for.

Deerthug contest thread
Lawdwaz replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in 2014 HuntingNY Spring Turkey Classic
WNYBuckHunter have you lost your mind? Why does everybody get a thread? -
I'd be leery of it. Not so much that it is a scam, just that the thing has seen so little road time and you think you're getting a like new vehicle but it is still 12 years old.

The first turkey I ever killed back in 1981 was plucked in the basement at home. OMG..........OMG.........what a mistake THAT was. Did I mention that was the last turkey I ever plucked? YMMV.............But if you're going to pluck one, do it on a windy day.

Good move. Save up for some other out of state hunt like a three day southern deer hunt in January. Or maybe a fair chase hog hunt in Texas??

I really didn't like it. I gave some to a few friends and NOBODY asked for more. Right now it is just in the freezer to take up dead space and help the efficiency of the motor. (It looks way cooler than a bunch of gallon milk jugs )

The only way I'll EVER do a wild turkey breast anymore is to grind it and make turkey tetrazzini. (Thanks Tim)

That oughta end this conversation ...............well said CCHC. These days all I do is save the feet whole for a few months then cut the spurs off approx. .50" above and bellow. Then drill out the funk and hang on a string in the basement. No goofy necklace for this guy..................

I've driven by multiple times as I hunt in the area. I have zero interest in hunting there, now or ever. Last year I hunted a preserve in TN for boar. It was more of a social get together than a hunt. I'd be happy to give you the remainder of my pork from the hunt.

Here is the story (copy/paste from my email) that goes with the above noted picture............................................ Larry, I started the season with a bang this morning. Got here about 2 PM yesterday and set up a blind on a cedar pasture where we have permission to hunt. Got in there this morning before daylight and set out a strutter decoy with a submissive hen and my bobblehead hen. Heard the first roost gobble at 5:40 AM. By fly down I had heard 3 gobblers close enough to call to..Started calling at flydown..Nothing too exciting. birds gobbled on and off for a while and finally I heard a closer gobble and had a nice adult tom strutting about 100 yards from my setup. damn thing strutted and gobbled, but walked right past me out of gun range. About that time another tom showed up and the two of them got into a brawl. I watched them for about twenty minutes through my Liecas wrapping their necks around each other and breast pushing each other back and forth. Finally one decided he had enough and started to leave..I called to the winner and he immediately lit up and started strutting to my decoys. About that time the loser decided he was also interested in my decoys and started strutting in. I decided to shoot which ever one came in first, because they were both nice toms. The loser got there first. I crunched his noggin with a load of copper plated 4s at 19 yards, standing right beside my bobblehead hen. The winner was not that spooked, he left at a fast walk but did not run or fly. I could have killed him easy. As he was leaving , two jakes came walking in, even though I had shot less than a minute previous. I took a picture of my three decoys with the dead gobbler laying in the middle of them and the two jakes standing there looking stupid. Haven't weighed the bird yet, but I think he's probably a 3 year old. Nice full beard about 9 inches, one inch spurs and probably weighs about 20 pounds. Gonna go back tomorrow and try for the survivor. Gator has not checked in yet. I don't know if I can get on the forum from here or not. If Gator can send picts, I may email you a picture of my bird. say HI for me to the guys on the forum. Talk to you soon, Dan

My daughters first Youth Seasons Turkey
Lawdwaz replied to HectorBuckBuster's topic in Turkey Hunting
Good stuff!! Your daughter looks pretty happy. What a great day for her and you. -
If you're using a blind it shouldn't be too difficult. If you're not using a blind, best stop at Wegmans and pick up a Butterball. Good luck!!

Looks like a winner to me. Enjoy every minute of it!

Dan scored yesterday morning on his Canadian gobbler hunt.........and a good one it was. Heck of a story too!! I'm trying to post his picture from my iPhone and appear to be hamstrung. I'll get it up later. (The pic)

Colon health is no joke Doc. I'm sure the poster just put that one in the wrong thread. It should have been in the BM header.............
