Not much difference from a accurate slug gun, center fire rifle or a ML to me. A 2.5-8 VariXIII sits on my ML. 2-7 VariXII sits on the 'Ol slug gun and my rifles are 2.5-8VX3 and 3.5-10VariXIII. A 2-7 or 3-9 is more than sufficient for anything we'll ever hunt. Or, as will so be pointed out a fixed 4x or 6x could also be perfecto.............. Lots of great manufacturers to choose from these days but I'm still groovin' the Leupold line.

Ain't been in your boat yet. I had a conversation with a friend the other day about p/u and suv's. I could do 95% of what I do with my Tacoma with my wife's Rav 4. Easily.......... Mileage is a little better and easier to haul people. The few times I haul more than one deer a year would be a PIA though. Same with those times I haul all kinds of crap for a three day weekend but could easily survive for a month with all I take!! I'm sure I'll always have a p/u. I've owned exactly one car in my life, a 72 4 door Nova. I totaled one truck and snagged it for $300 to get me through for a couple months until I could get back to the program!

Stupidity knows no boundaries.

I was in Gander yesterday and was really surprised at (in my opinion) the stupidity. 150' of gun cases and two-tier gun racks, nice touch. EXCEPT the fact that they have two guys manning the counter; one is tied up with a customer at one end and the other is playing with his NIP at the other end. Two lug nuts are moving long guns from the lower rack to the upper. I say "HEY, can I see one of these Ruger Blackhawks?" The Boss Lug Nut says "sorry sir, we HAVE to get this done" then turns around and goes back to managing the movements of the Jr Lug Nut with the gun transfer to the upper rack. OK, why in the frig don't you holler for Mr NIP puller at the end of the counter? Nope. I waddle down and have NIP puller show me the gun. (that was over priced by 20%) Thanks for the help guys.... The gun cases are black inside, NOT the best for viewing. The used handguns are not marked with the manufacturer name, only the damned model number. Brilliant............. I looked at three Ruger's, one was mis-marked as a .44 Magnum and really was a .44 Special. I pointed that out as a fairly important detail that should be corrected. Mr NIP Puller scratched his bean and said to the Boss Lug Nut, "HEY, is this guy right. Is this marked wrong?" BLN agreed and said he'd change the tag when they got all the low racked guns into their proper spots. I'd had enough at that point and moved on..................................................... Oh yea, remember how I was bragging up their archery lanes back in January? They're gone. Storage area now. Come on Cabela's

Good luck buying at a gun show. IMO that is the worst place to buy. Those guys are stoned.......their prices are insane usually. Have you checked on your LGS? If not available there at a fair price, shop the web. Although you'll have to pay shipping ($20-35) and then your FFL fee, you may save some cash and get exactly what you want. (and beat King Andy out of the sales tax..................... )

Not me Red. I'd sure enjoy it as I've seen the crowds in action.........years a go we'd slide through Wellsville on the way to Pennsylvania for opening day of turkey hunting. Good times for us and it looked like the fisherman were having their fair share of laughs too. Good luck ifin ya go!

I'm busting a gut on this one...........That freaking van has got to be looooooooooong gone from either bullet holes, rust, theft, plumbers tools that rammed around for ten years or who knows what in the heck!!!
