Yes, yes and hell yes. They cross roads all the time. I SHOULD have killed one yesterday 30 yards from my visible truck but he zigged and I zagged. He went across a hardtop road twice during the match, ending up as the victor. Two long hot hours of crawling, climbing and bitching........

To consistently kill mature spring gobbler or two each year takes a ton of time and dedication. If you have them in your backyard, that makes things a bit easier. If you have to travel an hour or more and back the same day it separates the men from the boys. I've killed three in a season (between NY & PA) numerous times in the past but sadly that'll probably never happen again. It just takes too much out of me physically and mentally. Spring gobblers are THE most difficult thing to hunt, IMO. YMMV

No clue on the quail but welcome to the forum. What kind of dog do you have? I used pigeons and road killed ringnecks to train my pup 10 years ago. Hopefully the statute of limitations has passed....................................................

Nice! Is that a fake head? I'm only curious as I remember when I mounted one years (25) ago my taxi dude had my birds head freeze dried and refused to do the faux heads.

I had a sneak mount done one time with some awesome sheds. IIRC it was a straight mount?? Really cool looking but I sold it at a time of need. As far as I know, it is in a bar in Wellsville? It was a gorgeous 150"B&C 10pt. It was officially measured as sheds. I with I had a couple pics of it..........

To target a bear in NYS is going to be pretty tough unless you have a very unique situation and a ton of help. Like noted above,almost all bear kills are the result of a deer hunt that turned into a bear kill.
