I climbed one a few years ago that was sketch. I shot a doe that night out of it in a blizzard. The next day I went in to get my stand at the base, looked up at the dead limbs and gasped. Uggh It was dunzo then….

The tree appears to be dead like 100's of thousands of other ash trees. I believe that treatment would have had to be done quite a while ago. Sorry if I came on to strong. LOL

Widow maker…..be careful when you fell it. Quality PPE, starting with a helmet is a must have for tree work and especially dead wood. YMMV (but it shouldn’t)

The only people making more money than a pharmaceutical companies are tree surgeons. LOL I see so many guys in the area doing tree work with all the dead & dying ash around. Good for them.....

I have a few enclosed huts to sit but I’m opting for what we call the “Ridge Stand”. It faces west and (as long as there’s a skiff of snow on the ground) the viewing area is vast. I’m hopeful……
