  1. Yep, we always get ours right after Thanksgiving. It also comes down the day after Xmas!
  2. I'll post mine up in a bit. I'm super excited about this tree. Normally I like tall, fat and full and this one's quite the opposite, as my son's getting his first compound bow for Xmas this tree is damn fitting!!
  3. Ours is great as well, we use that thing all the time and it's fast!!
  4. Well tell her to shape up or ur gonna upgrade, I'd try that first!!
  5. I remember going to his garage as a kid with my dad back in the late 80's early 90's? That must have been back towards the beginning of his business.
  6. I may be sitting in a tornado right now, yikes it blowing and raining hard here. Dang there goes Dorothy
  7. U guys act like you never screwed up before, yikes
  8. Took my 11 yr old to see it tonight, as a ford guy myself I was hoping this movie would shape his automotive future and make him a Ford guy. I think it worked perfectly!! Great movie by the way well worth it, there were parts in the movie where I was pushing my foot down on the imaginary gas petal!!
  9. I think your both right so relax. It really depends on the area. The more acreage you have the better your odds should be. Less pressure, less chance of a neighbor harvesting it, so on. And yes you can make great things happen on smaller parcels but you have to have great surrounding as well, neighbors are non hunters, mass ag crops and so on.
  10. I always have a ton of things I wanna do and I need to start right after the season because once spring starts it gets really challenging time wise. I am going to build multiple enclosed huts specifically for gun season where I can reduce my sent and brave the elements longer. I also need to continue on enhancing a bedding area, I'm trying to reduce the autumn olive and make way for more goldenrod! Want to buy some apple trees and chestnuts and place them around the new food plot edge. Specifically apples that mature at different times throughout the fall. Last but not least ( might not get to this) building the Taj Mahal by the new plot. Basically a small cabin 10/12 feet up over looking the plot where my son and I can hangout all day and night. Solar, heat, makeshift bathroom and two recliners we can sit and sleep in.
  11. Never heard of them, I've got nothing on this one.
  12. Sitting in the food plot this am hoping to catch one of these handful of nice bucks I've seen on cam stroll thru. I have tons of morning buck pics!! GL all

    Be careful

Wow that stinks glad your mostly ok. I fell out of my ladder stand this past Sept and walked away with a few bumps and bruises and a concussion. Can deff be dangerous.
  14. Heck yeah Larry congrats. Was he solo or still following doe's? Nice buck, I also like the fact you just take a picture the way it is, tongue hanging out feet out, not a big fan of prop picks, sitting way behind the deer to make the rack better etc...
  15. Yeah that's what I'm noticing, not many bows have a big range from draw and weigh, most are so narrowly focused. Also I think let off is important as well, Hoyt doesn't even tell you let off on line and some of these bows are so darn expensive.
  16. On the bow it just says #70, online it looks like it went from 40-70
  17. Yeah agree 100%, I got here ma baseball bat a couple yrs ago that I thought was a little big, turned out way to big and he struggled with it. I checked out the bow, it's a Matthews sq2, looks like a 02-03 still in good shape but not the newest. Deff a smaller bow which is good for him, but I'm still leaning new.
  18. My father in law has a friend who didn't want his bow any longer and asked if my son wanted it, my FIL has it so I'm gonna swing by and take a look, i know zero details, but my FIL has some wealthy friends so I'm guessing it's a decent bow.
  19. Thanks appreciate it, I like the Hoyt tradition by dad had with me and now me to my son. I think anything bigger at this point is to big for him to handle well.
  20. Ok good reference, I'm 6'4/6'5 and assume he will be similar. I have no idea what mine is, I got mine so long ago.
  21. Thanks for everyone's help, I know I'm no expert with bows so I appreciate your input!! I feel like I'm still learning towards the Klash, yes he may have to get another in a number of yrs but I think this is a more manageable size bow for his him and his age, plus it has a better all around draw weight options for him. I think the others are just a little to big for him at this point.
  22. So i measured fingertips to fingertips and got 63 inches divided by 2.5 gets me 25 inches basically. So sounds like there is some room to grow length wise.
  23. I just called Hoyt. The guy I spoke with said yes the youth Klash he will probably out grow a few yrs from now, their next bow is the powermax which is 31 ATA but the poundage goes in increments of 10#, so 30-40, 40-50... I know he's gonna want more than 40# in a few yrs anyways so it makes me feel like either bow isn't the best option? Now he did say you could swap out limbs but I feel like these bows are changing daily and in a few yrs from now they will tell me they don't make those limbs anymore. Grrrr nothing easy
