Good question, I'll have to check, I've been so focused on axle length I hadn't even thought about that.

Hey all, appreciate advice and input. My son is 11 and will be 12 next yr and will be able to bow hunt (crazy). I want to get him a sweet bow for Xmas and I need some help. My dad got me a Hoyt when I was 14 and I used that bow until I was around 30 before I got a new bow. I'd really like the new bow to be a Hoyt (keep family tradition going). I went to Hoyts website and found the Klash youth bow. Seemed like a good bow and decent price. The problem I ran into this am was when I went to the local bow shop the guy says that with only a 28" axle he said my son will out grow it in a few yrs and I should go with something like a 31" axle that will grow with him and said the longer axle is also more accurate. I feel like the youth bow is perfect now but will be to small and at some point will have to upgrade again, where I'd like him to have the same bow for a long time. I feel like the other bows are to big for him now? He's 5'6 (tall for his age) and 100lbs. Thoughts?

Win mag, win mag, win mag!! The doe I shot with my .300 made it all of 10yrs and was an enormous blood trail, entered neck out bottom of the chest. I'm using federal non typical 150 soft point. -

Why wouldn't you just cut your own? I just can't see myself tossing my hard earned deer into an enormous pile of other deer laying on the gravel ground under some nasty tarps (even next to a porta potty) for days. I just think it's kinda dirty. I think when you cut your own it's even more satisfying when you eat it. -

Weird no blood for that far, I'm assuming you still have decent snow on the ground. Yeah I'd hang it up for now any maybe circle back to it later on. I'm no ballistics expert but I'd guess maybe it's the round? Side note, glad the plots still holding up. I checked ours Sunday and with the snow you could really see the activity and is also holding up pretty well! -

How's the food plot holding up? -
Did you check out the thread, ideas to keep warm? I posted that I sewed pockets on my turtleneck to hold hand warmers, I was super warm and comfortable this weekend, it's super easy, cheap and light weight.

You guys aren't very talkative this am?!?!! I went to bed around 8-8:30 and I'm still tired. Sitting in the food plot stand with a gun!! Hoping one of many nice bucks I have on cam show up with a doe!! GL all -

This worked out awesome, I was toasty warm this am, not even a bit cold after 3 hrs this am, different story for me feet. Cheap and effective warmth.

Shot my first deer with the .300. The neighbor shot her in the left front leg. She came down using only 3 legs with a 6pt in tow hounding her. Surprisingly she ran about 10yrds. Glad I was able to harvest her as she would have had a really tough go. Brother shot a doe, passed up I think 3 or 4 bucks today between us. Pretty quiet day of shooting, once you take away the neighbors 8 shots.

WeWell caught up with the neighbors who tracked the doe they shot all the way to me. They said they didn't even hear my shot. Neighbor hit the leg/shoulder ( must have been a straight on shot because there was no penetration on her. Luckily they didn't ask who's deer it should be, the brother shot 7 times this am, he said he was using the wrong cross hairs (yikes). Doe for me -

I dropped a doe, looks like she was wounded. Wouldn't be surprised if one of the neighbors 8 or 9 shots was towards her. -

Good luck to everyone in the am, be safe and shoot straight!! It's always entertaining opening morning waiting to hear the first yahoo shoot while it's nearly black out. -
Ok I took an old shirt and cut it into hand warmer size pieces and I sewed 2 on the back area of the turtleneck and 2 on the front side that will hold hand warmers. 4 on the shirt maybe to much but will find out Saturday. I may expand this to my under armour bottoms maybe 1 per leg, poor man's version I guess. Stop laughing at my stitch job, I forgot alot since home ec class!
