yep that's it Bill. Again, even after I explained it was a joke and I meant nothing by it, you insinuate I insulted her because I'm jealous, when in fact I was commending her for tagging out... Because I like Cynthia and I appreciate you taking the time to mentor a new hunter I'll just leave it at that. Maybe you can too. again, i'm sorry that you took it how you did and i'm surprised you did as you and I never had any bad blood and there would be no reason for me to attack you, certainly not while sitting in the blind with my 5 year old and being perfectly happy and at peace.

except that i've only met a small handful of you in real life. You have no idea who I really am, while many of you have met each other and understand true intent. It's for certain that I will call bs when I see it, and I'm not afraid to have a disagreement with someone. That is me on the internet and me in real life. More often than not I've offered help to many people on this forum and not all of it is public, as I know the same is true for many others. You might be surprised to know about a lot of the philanthropy I do, but I don't advertise it, as that's not why I do it. But truth is, there is still the group of old white men on here that are burned that I had a lot of issues with a former female member, so when God forbid I make a joke that wasn't interpreted properly to another, it's just assumed I'm being mean and aggressive? Even though there's no history or reason for me to do so? Oh and I'm making this attack on a female member I have no bad blood with while I'm sitting in the field with 5 year old because I'm really that big of an a$$hole and sad with my horrible, horrible life. But you're right, past performance comes out and here is pygmy to the rescue. I've said my peace, start a new thread if anyone wants to hash it out any further.

how'd that turn out? not sure I could sacrifice a backstrap for the smoker, but maybe if i took 3 or 4 deer haha
-
Did wings for the first time and pretty impressed, although they didn’t really seem to absorb the smoke like other meats, even with the stringer hickory. 1/2 the batch I crispied up on the grill after and I think it was good both ways, but kids liked the crispy ones. In hurry I didn’t get the best post smoked shot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

my past performance of being overly supportive and congratulatory of the 2 of them hunting together? Even you took it the same way I did and offered to send her a box call. But somehow I'm the bad guy for making a joke out of her beginners success? got it.
-
interesting, that's like fall hunting right there. The most I ever see together in the spring is 4, maybe 5 tops!
-
and per usual the ole perverted white knight chiming in on something that has nothing to do with him and he knows nothing about. fuck off
-
i think the 2 of you need a nap. I don't know how to make that joke any more obvious than I did...
-
well geez, i'm not sure you had to call me a butt head, you poopy pants!

Well I wish the nap would have lasted, he’s not able to sit still haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Me and my 5 year old on his first hunt. Setup a little after 6, not so bad. Out in the fields away from the roost. We will see how long he lasts haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

my parents are up near inlet in the daks (north of old forge). Over the last 3 or 4 years the turkey population has really grown up there. We never used to see them and now we see them all the time. Anyhow, she ran across a hen with polts already, which kinda shocked me, especially that far north. Might explain a little bit of the low gobbling.

4 out of 5 of my hunts this year were like that, but today was different. I'm with you though, strange year for me in 8F.
-
yep that was the game plan. It did work in that they came to the fields, but with the real deal hen at their disposal I lost the second round battle haha

Interesting hunt and I'm happy to finally get some action with gobbles, full struts and an absolute giant tom. It was definitely a case of should I move or shouldn't I and I chose wrong. The 3 birds at the far side of the field went west and over a knob and out of site. 2 things would happen. They would head north on private land and out of my life forever, or head south to one other 2 fields behind me, or up the hedgerow I was in. Honestly I really thought about and wanted to move to a pinch point that they do travel on quite a bit, but there was also a chance another bird might come out of the pines to my east... but realistically it was me just being comfy and also a little lazy not wanting to move dekes...telling myself i'd get busted. I had a conference call at 9 and figured I'd just stay put. Well... around 8:45 I look behind me (i'm in a hedgerow between 2 fields) and there's a hen at about 80 yards. I watch for a while and doesn't the same tom end up following close behind. I call a few times. He hears and perks up but has no interest in parting with the real thing. Had I moved I woulda, coulda, maybe... still good to see a big bad boy displaying and the whole 9. I probably have 2 hunts left, both with kids. But it was a good morning to be in the woods none the less.

Finally a jake joins her then a freaking VW beetle shows up, holy crap! 100 yards away and moving in the wrong direction. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Now there’s a hen in the field and all the gobblers have shut up and disappeared. I hate turkeys Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

2 jakes popped out at the far corner of the field, but only stepped into the field, turned and went back in. Didn’t look alarmed. Not sure they could have seen my decoys and def not me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Bunch of gobbles for that last hour or so. But they haven’t seemed to move. I called some, but I’m gonna shut up now as I think they may still be roosted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I didn’t start hunting turkeys till much later, and it was born out of a love for the woods. He will get there I’m sure. Best not to push. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Made it out this morning. Got a gobble, and it’s close. Let’s hope it wasn’t just the one Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
