  1. there's a pretty good discussion on this subject during a recent meateater podcast. No reason to detract from an awesome story, so somebody remind me and we can go 10 pages when the season is over
  2. So lets say someone was busy and forgot to report their harvest within 7 days, but knows this information is valuable to the state and wants to report it. What is one to do?
  3. that is probably more likely. Sometimes deer react weird to such trauma. I've had a few that pause like I missed. I have a momentary panic and then they just tip.
  4. I mean, the guys name was Ernest... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Man if the owner could prove that, the DEC would be the least of his worries. Death threats are no joke. I love deer hunting too, but geez Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. You’re approaching growalot status with these stories bro Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Oh wow man, that’s going to be like sex for the first time. Haha Congrats! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. It’s just about trying to limit getting all of my gear bloody, nothing else haha. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Cool. So the second one probably saved some tracking or worse (deer search)? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Snacks are the key. My boy is 6 and started turkey in the spring and did his first deer sit this past Friday. Even with good gear it was a little too cold. And don’t have any expectations of real hunting. Just consider it a trip to the woods. If you’re really gunning for a deer, leave the guy alone unless you have a real sweet setup. Don’t want to get frustrated with the kiddos. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I have the rechargeable absorber deal. But my safe is in a pretty dry area and I probably charge 4 times a year and rarely are the beads very green. Sorry I can’t help with your situation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Congrats man. Do you think you missed the first time? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Some good bogo offers https://www.foodsaver.com/deals/?j=2502703&sfmc_sub=61803581&l=595_HTML&u=166690902&mid=7224275&jb=62&src=&trk_msg=2502703&trk_contact=61803581&utm_source=SFMC-7224275&utm_medium=Email&utm_term=Cyber+Monday+Early+Access&utm_campaign=ec_foodsaver_cybermonday_20181125&utm_content=ec_foodsaver_cybermonday_20181125 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Haha we’ve all done that or come close. This convo is crazy to me. Field dressing is such a fundamental part of hunting and one that should be done ASAP. I buy those shoulder length glove packs and have it down to a process where it’s usually just my boots and pant legs getting bloody Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I’d probably just do laps around town lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Why is he in the woods then and why wouldn’t you want to teach him? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Doe in heat are usually alone. Yarded groups are already bread or not ready still. They kick the whores out lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. What a difference a day makes. Dressed lighter and still over dressed. Not surprised to hear the woods being blown apart either. I miss the snow [emoji17] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. You’ll love them. The early season one is great. Has mesh at the ears so you can still hear well. And in my book, any extra carbon can’t hurt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Watched this movie with my 2 oldest Friday. A pretty cool movie and if you have a nice tv and surround sound it’s beautifully shot. Had to read some of the subtitles for my guys but I recommend as a good family film, but not a Disney style film. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. That kind of hunting can be a lot more stressful! Good luck Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Great morning so far. 10 deer and 4 bucks in bow range Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Most deer, especially bucks killed from now to mz will be the result of being bumped Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. These mornings remind me why I like bow so much. Thinking of @wolc as I let a small doe and bb walk Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
