  1. Nothing seen but a great night with my oldest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. this is a goodheadcover for chilly days, works really good with a beanie for very cold days https://www.scentlok.com/full-season-ultimate-headcover
  3. solid deal on some binos https://www.opticsplanet.com/vortex-diamondback-10x42mm-binoculars-d241.html?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=BFKD112318&pdata=314d704c2f51667a642f6737725747
  4. Gotcha. Thought you were making a sweeping statement. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. You need that to estimate how much venison you need? Most people I know understand that they need a certain combo of big (160+) medium (120-160) and small. And of course understanding what they will lose from wounds. And that tool is 40 pounds off... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. FWIW, I think most buy new accessories anyhow. Also, they didn’t remove the normal rest mounts, just creates a new one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Yes, but you lose the efficiency. This mod allows you to keep the bow at peak efficiency. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. This live weight thing baffles me. Who isn’t field dressing their deer as soon as reasonable? Easier drag, better for the meat. And a scale is hard on the back? Not with a a $40 digital hanging scale and a $80 harbor freight hoist... This whole thing is nonsense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. i honestly recommend one with a bag cutter attached, but at $53 this is a great starter and even a backup vs ~$120 sale price of one with a bag cutter.
  10. maybe it only works on button bucks? 40 pounds! lol
  11. $56 black friday at walmart https://www.walmart.com/ip/FoodSaver-FM2000-Manual-Vacuum-Sealing-System-and-Starter-Bundle/836453410
  12. 3 kids under 6. wife isn't pregnant and she stays at home and it's still tough. I don't get in as much as I'd like, but I make it a priority. I'm not using vacation or that time to do other things like golf, poker, drink at a bar. The wife understands that it's my hobby, my therapy and my time. I think if you make it a priority, you can find the time. If you're a casual hunter you probably wont find the time. I also buy my wife a spa day at the end of the season for putting up with it. She does understand, as I do for her that everyone needs to relax and get away, so that helps. I'm not sure there is anywhere in the middle with 3 kids and a job. edit. my 6 year old went turkey hunting with me in the spring and is excited about his first trip to the deer woods this weekend. There's a way to work them into your woods time that most woman will love. Father son/daughter bonding is priceless. reminds me of the song "just fishin"
  13. probably buying this for my boys. looks pretty cool https://www.cabelas.com/product/home/day-sale-all-toys/pc/105625080/c/995149080/cabelas-duck-shoot-target/2896414.uts?slotId=3
  14. i guess if the meat goes to a good cause I can understand antler only hunting. I try to be pretty open minded, but I'll be honest... as a hunter it's hard for me to support the "trophy only" hunters.
  15. you'd never be able to correlate this data as it's also generally right around the time the rut takes place and any given year could be chase/seeking phase too.
  16. I believe spider ARs are in effect in NY, so I hope it had 3 legs to a side or I’m calling the DEC Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. That’s a bit of a bummer but he will still taste great Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Judging him by that pic, I’d say that makes more sense. Congrats to pops Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Did you ever find out who shot his leg off? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. With all due respect, I’m not sure that’s an exact science. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Wow he’s a beauty, congrats my friend! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. One shot in lower guts, other in left hind (as he was running away). He was going to die, but we did jump him still alive an hour later. Felt this would be ok with the snow on the ground. Long story short, he’s dead now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Cousin shot a buck. Said it ran, stopped head down and started to squat and go down. Tail was still flickering 10 minutes or so after shot. Out of view now, high on a ridge and going to get in a position from a distance to glass. Lots of blood. Thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. as far as I know yes. Claims to allow for 5 pound adjustments and maintaining peak bow efficiency without the need to swap limbs and stuff. Again, something that I dont think I would use, but I see how many hunters may adjust for temperature and game they're hunting.
