  1. i'm sure gun sales isn't much for them. But how many sportsman will look elsewhere for hunting, fishing and camping? Heck F&S, that's all they sell... I know i'm going to do my best to shop elsewhere and it's a shame because they do have good sales not only on hunting and fishing but athletic gear.
  2. I too am very organized and can even borrow from my dad. His garage is like a mini-cabelas. But the most organized and well planning people still have lapses or lose something or something breaks.
  3. i think there are certainly people on both sides who feel they can't give an inch and who feel total confiscation is the end game. I have faith that the vast majority of people know the answer is some tighter laws while still upholding the 2nd amendment.
  4. yeah any vpn or firewall will do that. you are probably on 2ghz. if you have dual band try 5ghz or even better upgrade to 802.11e
  5. i'm all ready to be upset and pissed by this. But then I also believe improved background checks and tighter restrictions that do not ban guns is the right move. I've said this for a while on here and I know not many agree with me. Also, think about this for a second. We could have hildabeast in office and we might lose the senate and/or the house this November. What Trump is doing could be the "give a little so they shut up" approach and far better than what happened to us New Yorkers after sandy hook. If the dems were in control this could be a lot worse. idk...
  6. actually the mpaa does this. there is no legal binding law or requirement that restricts views of rated r or nc-17 movies based on age. the mpaa sets a "suggestion". But all the major chains enforce it. And it's almost impossible to get an unrated movie shown in theatres, so they have you buy the nuts. That's why this is scary. We could get to the point where the government doesn't even need gun laws. if shippers (shippers are huge) and retailers just stop offering, we are in a corner big time.
  7. I get that. but i work in corporate america. it's all about metrics. Just like all of us who canceled red zone, sunday ticket etc. Just "not shopping" will not have the immediate effect.
  8. i can't find where i can actually cancel and close my account though.
  9. so i went online and cant find where i can cancel my scorecard or close my account. any help?
  10. I order online too. What I'm saying is what if your raingear tears and you need a jacket quick or you run out of doe pee or used the last bit of scent spray etc. as a webster resident: canandaigua, brockport, buffalo and syracuse aren't quick stops for last minute items.
  11. i'm with you. But it was my comment that got yall in a tizzy. Unfortunately with gander gone our options for last minute needs has dwindled. wny has cut up his cards and I'd like to do the same. My concern is that not supporting one of the last big box stores will just give us fewer and fewer options for hunting and fishing. There is no cabelas or bass pro in rochester. when they stopped selling these in 2012, we all still continued to shop there.
  12. don't give up. Lets take it back to the beginning. Dicks has stopped selling those mangled contraptions. Is this really a big loss for new yorkers?
  13. are they though? I'd probably own one if I could buy a 30 rd mag and it didn't look like the stock got mangled in a cnc machine. But I can't, and it does. so i disagree. and yes I know what a receiver is.
  14. fair point. I guess my fear is that one of these armed teachers does something stupid. because, well... people are stupid. Could you imagine? Some kid who is maybe even deserving like in the video i posted getting shot by an armed teacher? Might be the end of the second amendment all together.
  15. i'm speaking to the compliant ones, back to my comment that besides the age restriction, this isn't a huge deal for us new yorkers.
  16. do you really think that a lot of new yorkers have one of these?
  17. i don't know a single person that owns one and I dont think I've seen anyone on this board mention they have one.
  18. if you're down to get arrested over something like that, then sure. i have 3 kids and a good job. not worth it for me. eh maybe i got the 12 in the wrong spot. still 5+ years ago.
  19. Last night I went to kindergarten registration at plank north in webster. I sat in 2 classrooms and listened to some very kind, loving teachers whose only desire is to help my kid learn and grow. I tried picturing any of these ladies with a g23 and it just doesn't work. So again, I'd prefer a trained armed guard at that school over the chance that maybe one of them is packing and that maybe she is there that day and that maybe she keeps her cool and puts down the shooter.
  20. ok so I'll play that game. There are 100's of thousands of teachers all across this country. Lets say that it's likely more rural districts have a higher percentage of packing teachers. And suburban and even worse liberal suburban schools have very few if any. While we all agree there is no way to possible prevent these mass shooting 100%, I don't see this being a solution.
  21. my point is that there are probably plenty of teachers who wouldn't have been able to keep their cool.
  22. right but that's been 12 years. all i've ever seen was shotguns and "hunting" rifles. and a bad selection at that.
  23. sorry missed the last part, oxofrd common and what not i'm probably buying my kids their guns till they're out of college anyhow, but yeah that sucks. luckily there are plenty of other shops. and you know that hardly anyone was buying those cob jobs
  24. what i don't get is that all the people pushing for this don't like the guy anyhow. this isn't going to get him votes in 3 years. But what it does do is piss his base off pretty hard. And a lot of us who voted for him aren't exactly thrilled. There is no political gain in this move that i can see other than losing the fence sitter republicans who are already embarrassed by your every action and tweet.
